In this study, we proposed a simple method for preparing triamine-bearing activated rice husk ash material (TRI-ARHA) as an advanced functional material with high nitrate adsorption capacity and durability. The novel TRI-ARHA was generated via a post-synthesis grafting method and modified by acidification to form ammonium moiety. TRI-ARHA was then characterized by using thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and SEM-mapping. The TRI-ARHA had high nitrate adsorption capacity of 163.4 mgNO /g, which was 2.06 times higher than that of a commercial anion exchange resin (Akualite A420) due to strong interactions of Si, C, and N in the material structure. This functional material with good durability after 10 cycles could be very promising for adsorption of other anions (e.g. sulfate and phosphate) in water and wastewater treatment.

Molecular docking is a crucial technique for elucidating protein-ligand interactions. Machine learning-based docking methods offer promising advantages over traditional approaches, with significant potential for further development. However, many current machine learning-based methods face challenges in ensuring the physical plausibility of generated docking poses.

Objectives: Comorbidity with other conditions is common in functional bowel disorders. We aimed to investigate the prescription patterns of commonly used drugs in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional unspecific bowel disorder, compared to the general population.

Material And Methods: Prescriptions of commonly used drugs in 2022 were compared between patients and the general population from the same age group and region in Sweden.

Objectives: Caffeine, a known neurostimulant and adenosine antagonist, affects brain physiology by decreasing cerebral blood flow. It interacts with adenosine receptors to induce vasoconstriction, potentially disrupting brain homeostasis. However, the impact of caffeine on blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability to water remains underexplored.

Context: Natural fluorapatite (FAP) has been investigated as an adsorbent for the removal of dyes such as methylene blue (MB) and crystal violet (CV) from aqueous solutions. Effective dye removal is crucial for water treatment, particularly for industrial wastewater containing toxic dyes. FAP, a naturally abundant material, was characterized using XRD, FTIR, and SEM analysis.
