Skeletal muscle relaxants have their place in everyday use in numerous anesthesiological procedures, such as preparing a patient for surgery, supporting mechanical ventilation, and performing effective intubation. These drugs can be divided, based on their mechanism of action, into depolarizing skeletal relaxants, such as succinylcholine, and non-depolarizing skeletal muscle relaxants. Non-depolarizing agents are further categorized, based on their structure, into steroidal (eg, rocuronium) and benzylisoquinoline (eg, atracurium) compounds.

Objective: We aim to provide a pictorial representation of the broad spectrum of intracranial hemorrhages associated with cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), emphasizing atypical locations and rare intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) types. We also hypothesize the pathophysiology leading to atypical locations of the ICH in CVT and the outcomes with anticoagulation therapy.
Background: ICH complicates about 40% of cases with CVT and is known to cause various types of ICH, including subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and subdural hemorrhage (SDH).

Background And Objectives: Routine coagulation screens at birth are still standard in some European neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), although interpretation of these results is complex in preterm infants. It is unclear to what extent local coagulation assay results agree with published reference ranges when using different analysers and reagents. We aimed to assess coagulation assay results on day 1 of life in very preterm infants admitted to the NICU.
