A woman in her 40s presented with severe post-bariatric hypoglycaemia that persisted despite nutritional therapy and pharmacological therapy with acarbose and subcutaneous octreotide with meals. The nutritional limitations were difficult to sustain, and she developed adverse effects to the pharmacological therapy, and hence, doses could not be increased. She was subsequently treated with subcutaneous octreotide via an insulin pump, with a continuous basal rate and additional bolus doses with meals.

Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms are common in patients with Williams-Beuren syndrome (WBS), but their prevalence and possible causes are not yet fully known. This study assessed GI symptoms' prevalence and their possible origin by performing a predefined set of tests in adult WBS patients. Laboratory tests and a questionnaire were administered to assess GI symptoms and dietary habits.

This study aimed to investigate the role of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in sepsis-induced acute gastrointestinal injury (AGI), focusing on their potential as biomarkers and their involvement in disease progression. Peripheral blood samples from 14 patients with sepsis-induced AGI and healthy volunteers were collected. RNA sequencing was performed to profile circRNA and miRNA expression.
