Recently, smart adhesive superhydrophobic surfaces have attracted much attention. However, it is still a challenge to obtain a superhydrophobic surface with shape memory adhesive performance. Herein, inspired by the special back-scrolling/unfolding ability of gecko toe pads and corresponding tunable adhesion, we report such a film produced by sticking a layer of superhydrophobic pillar structured polyurethane (s-PU) onto a shape memory polyurethane-cellulose nanofiber (PU-CNF) substrate to mimic the hair-like skin structure and underlying muscle of the gecko toe pads, respectively. Similar to the muscle of the gecko toe pads, the excellent shape memory effect of the PU-CNF substrate can help the obtained film to memorize and repeatedly display different shapes and solid/water contact models. Thus reversible switching between multiple states from the low-adhesive rolling performance to the high-adhesive pinning performance can be realized. Meanwhile, based on its smart wetting performance, not only the traditional in situ capture/release of one microdroplet, but also the step-by-step release of different droplets can be realized on our film. This work reports a new superhydrophobic shape memory adhesive film, which offers a novel strategy for surface adhesion control and meanwhile opens a new road for applications in controlled droplet manipulation.

Objective: To predict the areas of snail spread in Anhui Province from 1977 to 2023 using machine learning models, and to compare the effectiveness of different machine learning models for prediction of areas of snail spread, so as to provide insights into investigating the trends in areas of snail spread.
Methods: Data pertaining to snail spread in Anhui Province from 1977 to 2023 were collected and a database was created. Five machine learning models were created using the software Matlab R2019b, including support vector regression (SVR), nonlinear autoregressive (NAR) neural network, back propagation (BP) neural network, gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural network and long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network models, and the model fitting effect was evaluated with mean absolute error (MAE), root mean squared error (RMSE) and coefficient of determination ().

During impression formation, perceptual cues facilitate social categorization while person-knowledge can promote individuation and enhance person memory. Although there is extensive literature on the cross-race recognition deficit, observed when racial ingroup faces are recognized more than outgroup faces, it is unclear whether a similar deficit exists when recalling individuating information about outgroup members. To better understand how perceived race can bias person memory, the present study examined how self-identified White perceivers' interracial contact impacts learning of perceptual cues and person-knowledge about perceived Black and White others over five sessions of training.

Thermoresponsive shape memory polymer (SMP) adhesives have demonstrated a high adhesion strength and large switching ratios on different substrates. However, a long response time to switch adhesion on or off is generally encountered. This study provides a fast adhesion switching method based on the temperature and rate dependence of adhesion within the glass-transition zone of an epoxy polymer.

Brain tumors can cause difficulties in normal brain function and are capable of developing in various regions of the brain. Malignant tumours can develop quickly, pass through neighboring tissues, and extend to further brain regions or the central nervous system. In contrast, healthy tumors typically develop slowly and do not invade surrounding tissues.
