The European Commission authorized the use of dried yellow mealworm (Tenebrio molitor - TM) as a food ingredient under Regulation EU 2021/882. As TM emerges as an important allergen source, sensitization and allergy to TM in various populations need investigation. The aim of this study was to assess the incidence of sensitization to TM before its introduction as a food ingredient in Poland, as well as checking the occurrence of co-sensitivity to TM and other invertebrate allergenic extracts and molecules.

Background: Component-resolved diagnostics are used to diagnose food allergies. Currently, reports on sensitization profiles using peach-allergen components in a multicenter setting are lacking. In this study, sensitization profiling of peach allergy was performed to evaluate the clinical utility of each component specific-immunoglobulin E antibody (sIgE ab) test.

Background: The clinical importance of sensitization to 6 (Ara h 6) in Japanese children remains unelucidated. We aimed to quantitatively evaluate the clinical importance of sensitization to Ara h 6 in managing peanut allergy in Japanese children.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of children with or without symptoms induced by an oral food challenge or home dosing of up to 3 g of peanuts.

Background: Allergen component resolved diagnosis (CRD) is a method for identifying specific protein molecules that cause hypersensitivity. Unlike traditional methods that use crude allergen extracts containing multiple component species, CRD focuses on individual allergen protein molecules for more precise diagnosis. The World Allergy Organization (WAO) recommends CRD as a supplement to clinical history and allergen extract testing, and in some cases, it can replace crude extract tests.

The prevalence of food allergy in children is increasing, which seriously affects the quality of life of children and their families. Among children and adolescents, IgE-mediated food allergy is the most common type. In recent years, allergen specific IgE (sIgE) and skin prick testing (SPT) have been widely used in clinical practice, with component resolved diagnosis (CRD) also gaining traction for precise diagnosis of IgE-mediated food allergy.
