Routine faecal examination of a herd of weaned male goats revealed heavy infections with gastrointestinal strongyles (GIS) and Strongyloides sp. Moxidectin (routinely dosed at 0.3 mg·kg, i.e., 1.5 times the sheep dose), although fully effective against GIS, failed to control Strongyloides sp., with an estimated faecal egg count reduction (FECR) of only 55.5%. In addition, levamisole (11.25 mg·kg) and ivermectin (0.3 mg·kg) also failed to control Strongyloides sp., with FECRs of 1.4% and 53.5%, respectively. On the other hand, albendazole (7.5 mg·kg) and netobimin (11.25 mg·kg and 22.5 mg·kg) reduced by 96.3-99.9% the Strongyloides sp. faecal egg counts according to dose and remained effective, although, in the past, this drug family has been used extensively on the same farm and was no longer effective against GIS. Albendazole or netobimin at 3 times the dose for sheep may be effective for Strongyloides sp. control in case of severe infection.

Background: is an opportunistic pathogenic parasite. Most individuals with normal immune function may not exhibit significant symptoms, and the signs are atypical, which can easily lead to missed diagnoses and delayed treatment. People with underlying diseases and weakened immunity are prone to develop severe conditions after infection with .

Background And Aim: The global prevalence of gastrointestinal (GI) and blood parasite infections in horses is a significant concern due to their substantial impact on morbidity, mortality, and economic losses in the horse industry. In Thailand, limited research has been conducted on these parasites in horse populations, and data from southern Thailand are lacking. Consequently, this study aimed to estimate the prevalence of GI and blood parasites in horses in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand.

Background: Urbanization coupled with poverty has promoted the exploitation of risk zones like flood-prone areas in the city of Yaoundé. The overcrowding and poor hygiene observed in these areas are responsible for the unsmiling variations in environmental cleanliness, exploitation of river water for domestic purposes thus putting them at risk for parasitic disease transmissions. This study was conducted in order to assess the risks of human helminthiases outbreaks in relation to water physico-chemical factors in the city of Yaoundé.

Background: Treatments for soil-transmitted helminthiases face challenges, especially in addressing Trichuris trichiura. Combination regimens, particularly of ivermectin and albendazole, are promising. We aimed to assess the safety, efficacy, and palatability of a combination tablet for the treatment of T trichiura, hookworm, and Strongyloides stercoralis infections among school-aged children in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Mozambique.

Infections with soil-transmitted helminths pose a significant threat to wildlife in enclosures, where transmission of these parasitic larvae is easier due to the limited space. Nematophagous fungi offer a promising solution as they can naturally control these nematodes. In this study, three nematophagous fungi (, , ) purchased from the non-profit global biological resource center ATCC were tested for their suitability as biological control agents.
