The impact of one-day surgery has been increasing since the past few decades. This type of health service could fulfil many requirements of health policy, health care services, governments as well as patients. The aim of the research was to assess the publicly financed case numbers and interventions of one-day surgery in Hungary between 2010 and 2015 from different aspects. A retrospective and quantitative research was made, based on data of the National Health Insurance Fund of Hungary. The database contained all publicly financed one-day surgery cases (both theoretical and performed cases), intervention codes (WHO) as well as the related medical field. Then the database also contained all relevant information related to the patients (age, sex, residency according to the county) and the type of the provider health care institutions. Our results showed an increasing tendency according to the case numbers of one-day surgery from 130 995 (2010) to 251 328 (2015). The mean age of patients also increased in the analyzed period; in 2010: 47.4 years, in 2015: 54.5 years. In 2010, 42% of the theoretically defined one-day surgery cases were practically performed as one-day surgery cases which increased significantly to 65% in 2015. Gynecology, ophthalmology, general surgery and urology have had a significant impact in one-day surgery in Hungary. The analyzed data showed a significant increase of accounted cases, and we could identify the remarkable impact of gynecology and ophthalmology in one-day surgery in Hungary. Purpose: Recombinant human B-type natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) has been extensively proven to be an effective mean of heart failure (HF) therapy, but its clinical application is limited by its very short half-life. This study aims to combine in vitro transcribed mRNA (IVT mRNA) and fusion protein technology to develop a rhBNP-Fc mRNA drug with long half-life, high efficiency and few side effects to treat HF.
Methods: The rhBNP-Fc fusion mRNA with IgG4-Fc sequence was produced by IVT technology.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of midazolam and dexmedetomidine combined with ropivacaine-induced thoracic paravertebral nerve block (TPVB) in radical lung cancer surgery.
Methods: To retrospectively analyze the clinical data of elderly patients who underwent thoracoscopic radical lung cancer surgery from March 2020 to February 2023 in our hospital. All patients underwent a single two-site method of TPVB at the levels of T4 and T7 under ultrasound guidance.

Background: Thoracoscopic repair of esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula (EA/TEF) has been reported to have superior outcomes to the open approach. We sought to evaluate adoption of thoracoscopic repair at US children's hospitals and compare outcomes to open repair.
Methods: The Pediatric Health Information System database was used to identify patients with EA/TEF who underwent repair between 2016 and 2023.

Objective: To assess the impacts of electroacupuncture (EA) on the gait, oxidative stress, inflammatory reaction, and protein degradation in the rats of denervated skeletal muscle atrophy, and explore the potential mechanism of EA for alleviating denervated skeletal muscle atrophy.
Methods: Forty male SD rats, 8 weeks old, were randomly assigned to a sham-surgery group, a model group, an EA group, and a p38 MAPK inhibitor group, with 10 rats in each group. The right sciatic nerve was transected to establish a rat model of denervated skeletal muscle atrophy in the model group, the EA group and the p38 MAPK inhibitor group.

Objectives This study aimed to identify the etiology and the direction of dislocation of the natural crystalline lens or intraocular lens (IOL) in IOL intrascleral fixation surgery and to determine the change in intraocular pressure (IOP) after surgery. Methods We retrospectively investigated the diagnosis, direction of lens and IOL dislocation, and IOP before and after surgery (preoperatively and one day, one week, and one month postoperatively) in 236 eyes from 228 patients who underwent IOL intrascleral fixation at Chiba University Hospital between February 2015 and September 2020. Results IOL intrascleral fixation was performed in 48 (20.
