Anterior subcutaneous internal fixation (INFIX) is one of the current representatives of minimally invasive fixation of injuries to the anterior pelvic ring. The nail insertion point of this technique is located at the anterior inferior iliac spinous screw, with an angle of 30° outward and 20° backward. Screw in at an angle, and note that the screw head should be above the deep fascia and maintain a safe distance of 20 to 25 mm from the bone surface.

Ramus frame dental implants were retrospectively studied in 360 adults with severely atrophic edentulous mandibles. Patient records up to 12 years post-treatment were independently reviewed after a single clinician surgically placed titanium long-arm ("Tatum") ramus frame implants and immediately loaded them with a mandibular overdenture. A total of 11 ramus frames were removed at 19 to 109 months post-treatment, mostly due to supramucosal bar fracture (N = 6) or mobility (N = 3).

Background: Real-time magnetic resonance imaging (rtMRI) is essential for diagnosing and comprehending temporomandibular joint (TMJ) movements. Current methods for tracking and analysis require manual landmark placement on each acquisition frame. Therefore, our study aimed to assess the inter- and intra-rater reliability of placing cephalometric landmarks in frames from a dynamic real-time TMJ MRI.

On latches in biological systems: a comparative morphological and functional study of the retinaculum and the dens lock in Collembola.

Institut Für Biowissenschaften, Universität Rostock, Allgemeine Und Spezielle Zoologie, Universitätsplatz 2, 18055, Rostock, Germany.

Background: Springtails have the ability to jump using morphological structures consisting of a catapult, the furca, and a latching system constructed with interaction of the retinaculum and the dens lock. The retinaculum engages in the furca at the dens lock in order to form a spring mechanism. They exhibit diversified morphological traits that serve as adaptations to a variety of terrestrial strata and aquatic surface environments.

Background: Defined as a contour line from the hairline, the zygomatic arch, to the ramus and gonial angle area of the mandible, posterior facial frame (PFF) is an important aesthetic units of the face. With the development of hyaluronic acid fillers and the improvement of injection techniques, minimally invasive injection has become one of the first options to improve PFF. However, effective and systematic injection methods to improve PFF are rarely reported in the literature.
