Impact of a new image enhancement technology on the nuchal translucency thickness.

Arch Gynecol Obstet

January 2025

Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University Hospital Tübingen, University of Tübingen, Calwerstrasse 7, 72076, Tübingen, Germany.

Objective: To examine the impact of a new image enhancement technique on the distribution of NT measurements.

Methods: In this retrospective study, nuchal translucency (NT) images that were taken with the GE Voluson E22 ultrasound machine between May and September 2024 were collected. One operator took manual and automated NT measurements in an NT image without radiant enhancement mode followed by automated measurements in NT images with minimum, medium and maximum radiant mode.

Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide, with early and accurate diagnosis being critical for timely intervention and improved patient outcomes. This retrospective study aimed to assess the diagnostic performance of two advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models, Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT-4o) and Claude 3.5 Sonnet, in identifying AIS from diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI).

Background: Dupuytren's disease (DD) is a systemic connective tissue disorder of the palm, predominantly affecting men of Northern European or Caucasian origin over 55. In addition to conventional surgery, Dupuytren's contracture can be treated in a minimally invasive way by injecting bacterial collagenase into the cord. However, studies on the long-term success rate when compared to the gold standard, surgical limited fasciectomy, are limited.

Over the past four years, Ga-fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) has been established at a tertiary cancer care facility in Jordan. This retrospective study aims to explore tracer uptake metrics across various epithelial neoplasms, identify diagnostic pitfalls associated with Ga-FAPI PET/CT, and evaluate the influence of Ga-FAPI PET/CT staging results on changes in therapeutic intent compared to gold standard molecular imaging modalities. A total of 48 patients with biopsy-confirmed solid tumors underwent 77 Ga-FAPI PET/CT examinations for molecular imaging assessment, encompassing neoplasms originating from the gastrointestinal tract, head and neck, hepatobiliary system, pancreas, breast, and lung.

Detective flow imaging (DFI) endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) can identify the microvascular flow imaging of a mural nodule (MN) in an intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) without the use of contrast agents. This retrospective study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of DFI-EUS and its ability to evaluate the blood flow of MNs in IPMNs. Between April 2021 and September 2023, 68 patients with MNs in IPMNs observed on EUS images were retrospectively analyzed.
