Background: (SM) is a brassy golden yellowish mineral with chemical composition of CuFeS that is widely used in therapeutics to treat various disease conditions such as (diabetes), (anemia), (skin diseases) and (fever). This mineral needs to be processed by the following specified Ayurveda guidelines in order to make it therapeutically safe and more potent. These processes include (preliminary process of eliminating unwanted substances), (incineration) and (nectorization) that are mandatory and play a crucial role in therapeutics. However, till date, no published reports are available on standard manufacturing procedure of SM .

Objective: The objective of this study is to develop the standard manufacturing procedure of SM .

Materials And Methods: Methods described in Rasaratna Samuchhaya were followed to perform process. of SM was carried out in three batches (600 g in each batch) by seven quenching in (TK, decoction of Retz., Roxb. and Linn.) maintaining batch manufacturing records. Organoleptic and physicochemical analysis of media, i.e., TK and SM was carried out.

Results: After , golden yellowish luster of SM was completely lost and it turned into dark black coarse powder. The hardness went on decreasing and brittleness went on increasing. Average 532 g of SM (88.67%) from 600 g of SM was obtained. Average time required for achieving red hot stage was 24.81 min. Analysis of the media revealed an increase in pH, specific gravity, and total solid contents.

Conclusion: The adopted method for of 600 g of SM can be considered as easy, convenient and standard.

Background: The objective of this study was to elucidate the frequency and cytologic features of positive peritoneal washing cytology (PWC) in cervical gastric-type adenocarcinoma (GAS) and to clarify the clinical significance of positive PWC.

Methods: The authors analyzed cases from their institution between 1991 and 2023 in which patients underwent surgery and PWC. The study included 62 patients who had cervical GAS (1991-2023; including seven patients with adenocarcinoma in situ and 26, 15, nine, and five patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics 2018 stage I, II, III, and IV disease, respectively) and 100 patients who had usual-type endocervical adenocarcinoma (2007-2023; including 65, 15, and 20 patients with stage I, II, and III disease, respectively).

Color change of materials by external stimulus has attracted much attention for various applications. We synthesized 1,3-bis(3,3-dimethyl-2-methylene indolenine)squaraine (ISQ), which was a yellow powder with golden luster (ISQ(gold)) and whose color changed to blue (ISQ(blue)) by being ground using mortar and pestle. Scanning electron microscopy indicated that ISQ(gold) consisted of laminated plate-like crystals with a large flat surface, which was attributable to (2 0-2) facets of monoclinic crystals.

Article Synopsis
  • - Fritillaria unibracteata is a traditional herbal cough remedy in China, recognized in the 'Chinese Pharmacopoeia', and its bulbs have been used for around 2,000 years.
  • - In May and July 2022, surveys in Sichuan Province revealed that nearly all areas of cultivation experienced rust fungal disease, with infection rates between 5% and 80%, causing symptoms like yellow spots and wilting.
  • - The study identified various fungal structures on the plants, including spermogonia and aecia, and detailed their physical characteristics, which align with known descriptions of the Uromyces aecidiiformis fungus.

Four species of the genus are described as new from Bolivia, based on morphological examination and phylogenetic analysis of the fungal ITS barcoding marker. Additionally, two species are reported as new to Bolivia (their identification confirmed by molecular data) and one previously reported species is confirmed by molecular data for the first time. Detailed morphological and anatomical descriptions are provided for all new species.
