ICN is one of the few simple triatomic molecules whose photodissociation mechanisms have been thoroughly investigated. Since it has a linear structure in the electronic ground state, the dissociation follows a photoexcitation at a linear or slightly bent structure. It is generally believed that the Ã-band consists of the dominant excitation to Π (4A') with the transition dipole moment (TDM) parallel to the molecular axis ( z), a slightly weaker transition to Π (5A', 4A″), and a much weaker transition to Π (3A', 2A″), both of the latter two having perpendicular TDMs. In the present work, we have theoretically studied the geometry dependence of these TDMs and found a pronounced θ (bending angle) dependence in the parallel ( z) component of the TDMs to Π (5A') and Π (3A'), both of which should be zero at a linear geometry by symmetry and thus have been previously ignored. We estimated that the z component TDM to Π (5A') has a contribution of 15-20% to the total absorption cross-section at 249 nm at room temperature. Interestingly, the TDM to Π (4A') does not exhibit such θ dependency and thus has only the z component. We compare the TDMs of ICN and CHI molecules having similar excited states. The fact that all the TDMs to 3A', 4A', and 5A' have nonnegligible z components implies the importance of the coherent excitation contributions to various observables of CN fragment, such as the anisotropy parameter, the orientation parameter, and the rotational level distribution as well as the rotational fine structure level distribution.

Despite being a high-resolution separation technique, deterministic lateral displacement (DLD) technology is facing multiple challenges with regard to design, manufacture, and operation of pertinent devices. This work specifically aims at alleviating difficulties associated with design and manufacture of DLD chips. The process of design and production of computer-aided design (CAD) mask layout files that are typically required for computational modeling analysis, optimization, as well as for manufacturing DLD-based micro/nanofluidic chips is complex, time-consuming, and often necessitates a high level of expertise in the field.

Every protein progresses through a natural lifecycle from birth to maturation to death; this process is coordinated by the protein homeostasis system. Environmental or physiological conditions trigger pathways that maintain the homeostasis of the proteome. An open question is how these pathways are modulated to respond to the many stresses that an organism encounters during its lifetime.

As an essential component of mechanical systems, bearing fault diagnosis is crucial to ensure the safe operation of the equipment. However, vibration data from bearings often exhibit non-stationary and nonlinear features, which complicates fault diagnosis. To address this challenge, this paper introduces a novel multi-scale time-frequency and statistical features fusion model (MTSF-FM).

Optical edge detection is a crucial optical analog computing method in fundamental artificial intelligence, machine vision, and image recognition, owing to its advantages of parallel processing, high computing speed, and low energy consumption. Field-of-view-tunable edge detection is particularly significant for detecting a broader range of objects, enhancing both practicality and flexibility. In this work, a novel approach-adaptive optical spatial differentiation is proposed for field-of-view-tunable edge detection.

Unlabelled: This study aimed to synthesize evidence from primary studies on the acceptability and effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) for improving lifestyle behaviors and body mass index (BMI) in children with overweight or obesity. We conducted a meta-analysis or followed the Synthesis Without Meta-analysis (SWiM) guidelines to synthesize study findings. The analysis included both mindfulness-only interventions and comprehensive behavioral interventions incorporating mindfulness components.
