Objective: Based on the Magphan phantom,a baseline value of low contrast resolution was established, and the stability of the imaging performance of the system was monitored.Drift and correction were found in time to give full play to the performance of the device.

Methods: The general test evaluation method for low-contrast resolution was not suitable for the characteristics of long-term monitoring equipment performance changes, and the test evaluation of low-contrast resolution that incorporates the -test method in statistical principle was proposed.

Results: By analyzing and evaluating the test results of the low contrast resolution of the standard water model image, and verifying the correctness of the evaluation method, according to the correct test method, the test statistic value was used as the low contrast resolution value of the MRI equipment to test the boundary of the region. The value was used as a baseline value for low contrast resolution to establish a long-term stable quality assurance system.

Conclusions: In this paper, the data of the low contrast resolution test on Magphan phantom was in line with practical experience, therefore the test method of low contrast resolution was verified. The baseline value of the indicator can be established based on the detection and evaluation method of low contrast resolution based on phantom, then to ensure the stability of the imaging performance of the system.

Purpose: Previous research has demonstrated improvements in CT-derived bronchial parameters in the first years after smoking cessation. This study investigates the association between longer smoking cessation duration and bronchial parameters in lung-healthy and lung-unhealthy ex-smokers from the general population.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional analysis using low-dose CT scans of ex-smokers from the general population with at least 10 pack-years from the ImaLife study, a sub study within the Lifelines cohort.

Autumn and winter air phytofiltration - Are plants able to biofilter air during peak pollutant emissions?

Air pollution is highest in winter. The high concentration of particulate matter (PM) and trace elements (TE) after the growing season is influenced by increased pollutant emissions, unfavorable meteorological conditions, and the low efficiency of air phytofiltration. Plants that can remove pollutants from the air during the growing season are leafless in autumn/winter, and therefore unable to capture PM/TE effectively.

Spirituality is widely recognized as a potential moderator of the adverse effects of hemodialysis on mental health. Understanding its impact on mental health in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world, however, remains a significant research gap. Hence, this study aims to explore the correlations between spirituality, anxiety, and depression among Saudi Arabian patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Purpose: Previous animal studies have found a relationship between spatial frequency and myopia. New research in humans suggest that reduced high spatial content of the visual environment may be a contributing factor for myopia development. This study aims to review the literature and elucidate the potential biological mechanisms linking spatial frequency and myopia.

Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating anti-cancer agents often lack generalizability to real-world oncology patients. Although restrictive eligibility criteria contribute to this issue, the role of selection bias related to prognostic risk remains unclear. In this study, we developed TrialTranslator, a framework designed to systematically evaluate the generalizability of RCTs for oncology therapies.
