The present study aimed to investigate the nutritional properties and antioxidant activities of six underutilized wild edible plants . , and that are commonly consumed as food in the India The antioxidant properties of the plants were evaluated by using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, ABTS radical scavenging ability, reducing power capacity, metal chelating activity, lipid peroxidation assay, estimation of total phenolic content and flavonoids content in different solvent extraction system like benzene, chloroform, methanol and 70% aqueous (aq.) ethanol. The quantitation of phenolic acids and flavonoids and water soluble vitamins in these plants were carried out by HPLC using Acclaim C 18 column (5 μm particle size, 250 × 4.6 mm), Dionex Ultimate 3000 liquid chromatograph and detection was carried out in photo diode array (PDA) detector. The results of investigation showed that these plants are rich sources of protein, carbohydrate minerals and vitamins, especially the B group of vitamins that can contribute immensely to nutrition, food security, and health and therapeutic benefits. The different levels of antioxidant activities were found in the solvent systems used. The HPLC analysis also showed the presence of phenolic acids and flavonoids in various amounts in these plants which could be utilized as natural antioxidant.

Studies show that propolis has antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, and immunomodulatory properties, and may protect against diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. We aimed to extract compounds of brown propolis with hydroalcoholic solvents and evaluate their cytotoxic activity on tumor and non-tumor cells by MTT test. We tested the solute:solvent ratio (ethanol:water) and extraction time in a Shaker incubator (710 rpm) before conducting a central composite rotational design (CCRD) to optimize time and solvent mixture.

Arsenocholine-containing methacrylate (MTAsB) inspired by marine organisms was synthesized by the reaction of 2-bromoethyl methacrylate and trimethylarsine to investigate its polymerization behavior and the fundamental properties of the resulting polymer. Controlled radical polymerization of MTAsB proceeded in the presence of a copper catalyst and imidazolium chloride at 60 °C for 8 h to give a water-soluble polycation with a 94% yield. The smaller amount of nonfreezing water and intermediate water of poly(MTAsB) was observed compared with that of the ammonium-containing polycations.

This study explores the formulation and characterization of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-based composite hydrogels synthesized through solid-state crosslinking. Comprehensive assessments were conducted on their physicochemical properties, leachables, and immunogenicity. Swelling experiments demonstrated that the incorporation of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) enhanced water retention, while chitosan had a minimal effect on swelling behavior.

Low molecular weight galactomannan (LMGM), a soluble dietary fibre derived from guar gum, is recognized for its prebiotic functions, including promoting the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria and the production of short-chain fatty acids, but the mechanism of alleviating diarrhea is not fully understood. This study established an acute diarrhea mouse model using senna leaf decoction and evaluated the therapeutic effects of LMGM by monitoring diarrhea scores, loose stool prevalence, intestinal tissue pathology and gene expression, and gut microbiota composition and metabolisms. The results indicated that LMGM significantly reduced diarrhea scores and loose stool prevalence within two hours post-treatment.
