The scientific literature on talent identification is extensive, with significant advancements made over the past 30 years. However, as with any field, the translation of research into practice and its impact on the field have been slower than anticipated. Indeed, recent findings highlight a pervasive relative age effect, the effects of maturation being often overlooked, disparate populations between young and senior performers, and a necessity to embrace a holistic approach.

The two contradictory entities in nature often follow the principle of unity of opposites, leading to optimal overall performance. Particularly, aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) with donor-acceptor (D-A) structures exhibit tunable optical properties and versatile functionalities, offering significant potential to revolutionize cancer treatment. However, trapped by low molar absorptivity (ε) owing to the distorted configurations, the ceilings of their photon-harvesting capability and the corresponding phototheranostic performance still fall short.

Congenital hemophilia A (HA) disease severity has traditionally been categorized according to intrinsic factor (F)VIII levels, with <1% of normal indicating severe HA, 1% to 5% moderate HA, and 6% to 40% mild HA. However, mounting evidence illustrates considerable variability in bleeding phenotype regardless of FVIII level. Despite treatment advances, people with moderate or mild HA may be neglected, as treatment guidelines and established norms focus on FVIII levels, and many clinical trials do not include people with FVIII > 1%.

A new class of single-superatom catalyst (TiO, ZrO, and WC) supported on graphene is shown to outperform the stability and activity of their corresponding single-atom catalysts (Ni, Pd and Pt) for the electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction. The results based on density functional theory point to a paradigm shift in catalyst design.
