In recent years, the search for biological methods to avoid the application of chemical products in agriculture has led to investigating the use of biopolymers-based materials. Among the tested biomaterials, the best results were obtained from those based on the biopolymer chitosan (CHT). CHT, available in large quantities from the deacetylation of chitin, has multiple advantages: it is safe, inexpensive and can be easily associated with other compounds to achieve better performance. In this review, we have summarized the latest researches of the application of CHT on plant productivity, plant protection against the attack of pathogens and extension of the commercial life of detached fruits.

Aim And Background: Glass ionomer cement (GIC) serves as a widely used restorative dental material, known for its direct bonding to tooth structures and fluoride-releasing properties. This study aims to investigate the enhancement of GIC through the incorporation of a green-mediated nanocomposite comprising chitosan, titanium, zirconium, and hydroxyapatite, with a focus on evaluating the wear resistance of the modified GIC.
Materials And Methods: A one-pot synthesis technique was utilized to prepare a green-mediated nanocomposite incorporating chitosan, titanium, zirconium, and hydroxyapatite nanoparticles.

Polymeric materials featuring excellent flame retardancy are essential for applications requiring high levels of fire safety, while those based on biopolymers are highly favored due to their eco-friendly nature, sustainable characteristics, and abundant availability. This review first outlines the pyrolysis behaviors of biopolymers, with particular emphasis on naturally occurring ones derived from non-food sources such as cellulose, chitin/chitosan, alginate, and lignin. Then, the strategies for chemical modifications of biopolymers for flame-retardant purposes through covalent, ionic, and coordination bonds are presented and compared.

Burns are complex traumatic injuries that lead to severe physical and psychological problems due to the prolonged healing period and resulting physical scars. Owing to their versatility, hydrogels can be loaded with various functional factors, making them promising wound dressings. However, many hydrogel dressings cannot support cell survival for a long time, thereby delaying the process of tissue repair.

Research on stimuli-responsive micro-nanocontainers has gained attention for targeted corrosion inhibition and controlled emulsification-demulsification in oil recovery. However, existing nanocontainers face issues like irreversible drug release and limited functionality. This study presents a multi-functional nanocontainer design with reversible drug release and emulsification-demulsification capabilities.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is a common condition that manifests as ulcerative lesions in the oral mucosa. In this study, bilayer, mucoadhesive nanofibers loaded with pomegranate flower extract (PFE) were prepared using thiolated gelatin (TGel) and thiolated chitosan (TCS) as the active layer and drug-free polycaprolactone (PCL) as the backing layer. Gelatin (Gel) and chitosan (CS) were successfully thiolated (proven by Ellman's assay, solubility, H NMR, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, and XRD) and electrospun into active nanofibrous layers with a diameter of 356.
