Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a degenerative autoimmune disease, often managed through symptomatic treatment. The co-occurrence of the reported extra-articular comorbidities such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and dementia may complicate the pathology of the disease as well as the treatment strategies. Therefore, in our study, we aim to elucidate the key genes, and regulatory elements implicated in the progression and association of these diseases, thereby highlighting the linked potential therapeutic targets.

The etiology of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is multifaceted. One of the hypothesized pathways that results in the progression of RA is regulatory T cell (Treg) dysfunction. The pro-osteoclastogenic and immunogenic characteristics of microribonucleic acid (microRNA)-21 (miR-21) suggest its role in RA progression.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by persistent inflammation of the synovial joints, leading to cartilage and bone destruction. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic utility of specific microRNAs (miRNAs) as potential biomarkers for RA. The study was conducted on 60 patients with RA disease along with 20 control participants.
