Purpose Of Review: This paper reviews sea level contributions from land ice across the Arctic, including Greenland. We summarize ice loss measurement methods, ice loss mechanisms, and recent observations and projections, and highlight research advances over the last 3-5 years and remaining scientific challenges.
Recent Findings: Mass loss across the Arctic began to accelerate during the late twentieth century, with projections of continued loss across all future greenhouse gas emission scenarios. Recent research has improved knowledge of ice hydrology and surface processes, influences of atmospheric and oceanic changes on land ice, and boundary conditions such as subglacial topography. New computer models can also more accurately simulate glacier and ice sheet evolution.
Summary: Rapid Arctic ice loss is underway, and future ice loss and sea level rise are guaranteed. Research continues to better understand and model physical processes and to improve projections of ice loss rates, especially after 2050.

In our previous work, wheat gluten (WG) has been modified by pH-shifting treatment combined with heat to improve solubility and emulsibility. In this study, the high-soluble modified wheat gluten (M-WG) as an emulsifier in ice cream was investigated. Compared to monoglycerides (MG) and soy protein isolates (SPI), the ice cream emulsion prepared with M-WG exhibited smaller droplet sizes and a more consistent dispersion.

During the 2016-2017 Canada Basin Acoustic Propagation Experiment, an ocean acoustic tomography array with a radius of 150 km measured the impulse responses of the ocean every 4 hr at a variety of ranges and bearings using broadband signals with center frequencies from 172.5 to 275 Hz. Ice-profiling sonar data showed a gradual increase in ice draft over the winter with daily median ice drafts reaching maxima of about 1.

Ongoing warming in the Arctic has led to significant sea-ice loss and alterations in primary production, affecting all components of the marine food web. The considerable spatial variability of near-bottom environments around the Svalbard Archipelago renders the local fjords promising sites for revealing responses of benthic organisms to different environmental conditions. We investigated spatial variations in abundance, biomass, and growth parameters of the common bivalve in waters off western Spitsbergen and identified two distinct groups of this species: one composed mainly of cold-water stations from Storfjorden (Group I) and the other comprising warmer-water stations from Grønfjorden and Coles Bay (Group II).
