Bowen's disease (BD) is a relatively frequent non-melanoma skin cancer occurring mostly in elderly people. Until now, the usual way to establish the diagnosis is histopathological examination of a skin biopsy. Dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) are modern alternative methods that can be used as quick and non-invasive diagnostic techniques and as follow-up instruments in cases in which a conservative treatment is chosen for the management of BD. There are no very specific dermoscopic criteria for the diagnosis of this disease, but some dermoscopic features (scaly surface, vascular structures and pigmentation) can be found more frequent and can be helpful for the diagnosis. RCM of BD shows an acanthotic epidermis with two types of targetoid cells: the first, a large cell with bright center and dark peripheral halo, the second, a cell with dark center and a bright rim surrounded by a dark hallo, related with dyskeratotic cells on histological examination. BD management could be improved by using non-invasive, imaging techniques that allow a fast and easy diagnosis and can be used as follow-up tools. However, larger studies are necessary for the validation of our observations.

Urological malignancies during pregnancy are exceedingly rare, with bladder cancer posing significant diagnostic and management challenges. This study describes a 28-year-old pregnant woman diagnosed with non-invasive papillary urothelial carcinoma, presenting with painless hematuria at 22 weeks of gestation. The diagnostic process included ultrasound and MRI, both of which confirmed a solitary polypoidal lesion.

As the population of adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) grows, there also grows an expanded need for non-invasive surveillance methods to guide management and intervention. A multimodal imaging approach layers complementary insights from echocardiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and other modalities into a clinician's view of patient physiology. Merely applying strategies from acquired adult cardiac disease would be inadequate and potentially misleading.

Right ventricular (RV) dysfunction after biventricular repair is critical in most adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD). Conventional 2D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measurement is considered as a 'gold standard' for RV evaluation; however, addition information on ACHD after biventricular repair is sometimes required. The reasons why adjunctive information is required is as follows: (I) to evaluate the severity of cardiac burden in symptomatic patients with normal RV size and ejection fraction (EF), (II) to determine the optimal timing of invasive treatments in asymptomatic ones, and (III) to detect proactively a potential cardiac burden leading to ventricular deterioration, from a fluid dynamics perspective.

Background: The prevalence of very high-risk atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is significant in China, with suboptimal rates of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) compliance exacerbating plaque instability and causing a higher incidence of major adverse cardiac events (MACEs). Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 inhibitors (PCSK9i) are effective in reducing LDL-C levels, increase the stability of vulnerable plaque, and influence the progression of atherosclerosis through multiple mechanisms as demonstrated in animal studies. However, there is currently a lack of evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of high-intensity statin therapy combined with PCSK9i in the secondary prevention of ASCVD in the Chinese population.

To create a diagnostic tool before biopsy for patients with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels < 20 ng/ml to minimize prostate biopsy-related discomfort and risks. Data from 655 patients who underwent transperineal prostate biopsy at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from July 2021 to January 2023 were collected and analyzed. After applying the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling TEchnique class balancing on the training set, multiple machine learning models were constructed by using the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) feature selection to identify the significant variables.
