Objective: To verify the correlation between nursing care time and care quality indicators.
Method: Observational, correlational study, developed in 11 Intensive Care Units. The population comprised records of the number of nursing professionals, the number of patients with at least one of the Oro/Nasogastroenteral Probe (GEPRO), Endotracheal Tube (COT) and Central Venous Catheter (CVC) therapeutic devices and the occurrences related to the losses of these artifacts.
Results: The time corresponded to 18.86 hours (Hospital A), 21 hours (Hospital B) and 19.50 hours (Hospital C); the Unplanned Outflow Incidence of GEPRO indicator presented a mean of 2.19/100 patients/day; Unplanned Extubation of COT Incidence, 0.42/100 patients/day; and CVC Loss Incidence, 0.22/100 patients/day. There was no statistically significant correlation between time and indicators analyzed.
Conclusion: This research may support methodological decisions for future investigations that seek the impact of human resources on the care quality and patient safety.

Background: Tinnitus is a major health issue, but currently no tinnitus elimination treatments exist for chronic subjective tinnitus. Acoustic therapy, especially personalized acoustic therapy, plays an increasingly important role in tinnitus treatment. With the application of smartphones, personalized acoustic stimulation combined with smartphone apps will be more conducive to the individualized treatment and management of patients with tinnitus.

Objective: This study aimed to introduce and evaluate a novel software-based system, BioTrace, designed for real-time monitoring of thermal ablation tissue damage during image-guided radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: BioTrace utilizes a proprietary algorithm to analyze the temporo-spatial behavior of thermal gas bubble activity during ablation, as seen in conventional B-mode ultrasound imaging. Its predictive accuracy was assessed by comparing the ablation zones it predicted with those annotated by radiologists using contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) 24 hours post-treatment, considered the gold standard.

Postoperative delirium (POD), an acute cognitive dysfunction linked to morbidity and mortality, is characterized by memory impairments and disturbances in consciousness, particularly in patients aged 65 and older. Neuroinflammation and NAD+ imbalance are key mechanisms behind POD, leading to synaptic and cognitive deterioration. However, how surgery contributes to POD and neuroinflammation remains unclear, and effective treatments are lacking.

Introduction: Preclinically, 24-hour continuous Ex-Situ Lung Perfusion (ESLP) is the longest duration achieved in large animal models and rejected human lungs. Here, we present our 36-hour Negative Pressure Ventilation (NPV)-ESLP protocol applied to porcine and rejected human lungs.
Methods: Five sets of donor domestic pig lungs (45-55 kg) underwent 36-hour NPV-ESLP.
