We present a scanning average method used in laser Doppler vibrometry systems for mitigating the noise induced by dynamic speckles. In this method, the measurement beam is scanned over the target surface within the area of interest at a relatively high frequency. Then an averaging operation (e.g., low-pass filtering) is applied to the acquired photocurrent signals to remove the impacts of the scan. Movement signals recovered from the averaged photocurrents turn out to have lower speckle-induced noise. We report the experimental demonstration of this technique through the use of a silicon-based photonic integrated circuit.

Lamb waves are widely used for defect detection in structural health monitoring, and various methods are developed for Lamb wave data analysis. This paper presents an unsupervised Adversarial Transformer model for anomalous Lamb wave pattern detection by analyzing the spatiotemporal images generated by a hybrid PZT-scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (SLDV). The model includes the global attention and the local attention mechanisms, and both are trained adversarially.

Background: The significant distal necrosis of the random-pattern skin flaps greatly restricts their clinical applications in flap transplantation. Previous studies have demonstrated the potential of danshensu (DSS) to alleviate ischemic tissue injury. However, no research to date has confirmed whether DSS can improve the survival of ischemic flaps.

Background: Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is widely used to treat carotid artery stenosis (CAS). However, the effects of CEA on unilateral CAS-induced cognitive impairment and the underlying mechanism remain poorly understood.
Methods And Results: Thirteen patients diagnosed with unilateral severe CAS underwent pre- and post-CEA assessments, including fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging, cognitive assessments, and routine blood tests before and after CEA.
We demonstrate a (FMCW) light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system utilizing a (SNSPD) to measure vibrational spectra using reflected signals at the single-photon level. By determining the time-variant Doppler shift of the reflected probe signal, this system successfully reconstructs various audio signals, including pure sinusoidal, multi-tonal, and musical signals, up to 200 Hz, limited by the laser frequency modulation rate and the Nyquist sampling theorem. Additionally, we employ scanning galvo mirrors to perform 3D measurements and map audio signals from different regions in the scanned field of view.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA parallel Hilbert transform arctangent phase demodulation (PHT-ATAN) method based on overlapping computation is proposed for phase demodulation of laser heterodyne Doppler vibrometers. The method suppresses the end point effects by utilizing overlapping computation and data concatenation and accelerates phase demodulation through parallel processing. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that when the algorithm's parallelism is ≥4, the computation speed of this method increases by over 100% compared to traditional methods, while maintaining the signal-to-noise ratio and accuracy of the phase demodulation results.
