A compilation of 6 distinctive F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (PET) combined with computed tomography (CT) findings in the acute setting of neurohospital care is presented. In case 1, PET/CT allowed the final diagnosis of circumscribed ischemic infarction by demonstrating a clear pattern of luxury perfusion. In case 2, diagnosis of thalamic abscess was made, whereby PET/CT demonstrated an empty zone. Hypermetabolic enlarged hilar lymph nodes and hypermetabolic spinal lumbar roots in PET/CT led to the diagnosis of neurosarcoidosis in case 3. In case 4, a hypermetabolic brain focus in PET/CT identified the seizure focus in epilepsia partialis continua. A cerebral hemispheric hypometabolism in PET/CT in case 5 supported the diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, which initially mimicked acute stroke. In case 6, PET/CT detected infective endocarditis as a source of multiple cerebral ischemic lesions. In conclusion, PET/CT can contribute importantly to find the correct diagnosis in acute neurohospital patients.

Background: Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome (STSS) is a life-threatening condition caused by bacterial toxins. The STSS triad encompasses high fever, hypotensive shock, and a "sunburn-like" rash with desquamation. STSS, like Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), is a rare complication of streptococcal infec-tions caused by Group A Streptococcus (GAS), Streptococcal pyogenes (S.

Background: Postmenopausal women (PMW) who complete menopause at a late age (55+ years) have lower cardiovascular disease risk than PMW who complete menopause at a normal age (45-54 years). However, the influence of late-onset menopause on vascular endothelial dysfunction is unknown. Moreover, the mechanisms by which a later age at menopause may modulate endothelial function remain to be determined.

Background: Previous studies have shown that hypertonic saline nasal irrigation and gargling reduced the duration of symptoms in upper respiratory infections caused by coronavirus. This study aims to investigate the effects of two saline regimens on symptoms associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2).
Methods: Between 2020 and 2022, individuals aged 18-65 years who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were randomly assigned to either low- or high-saline regimens for 14 days.

Background: Elevated blood pressure (BP) prompts immediate emergency department (ED) visits instead of outpatient care, thus constituting a high-weight concern for the ED. This study investigated the short- and long-term outcomes of high BP patients in the ED.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted at King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH), reviewing ED visits from January to December 2022.

Intussusception is a leading cause of acute intestinal obstruction in infants, typically presenting with a classic triad of intermittent abdominal pain, vomiting, and currant jelly stools. However, atypical presentations can lead to diagnostic delays, increasing the risk of complications. This report describes a seven-month-old male with an unusual presentation of lethargy and irritability, without overt gastrointestinal symptoms.
