Cellulose biocomposites have emerged as attractive alternatives to fossil-based plastics because of their excellent renewability and biodegradability; however, their water resistance and mechanical properties remain challenging. Herein, a cellulose- containing bioplastic with high a reinforcement content, water stability, and toughness is reported. Lignin-containing cellulose nanofibers (LCNF) were prepared by pretreating eucalyptus wood powder with a deep eutectic solvent and high-pressure homogenization.

Recently, biomass-derived carbon dots (CDs) have attracted considerable attention in high-technology fields due to their prominent merits, including brilliant luminescence, superior biocompatibility, and low toxicity. However, most of the biomass-derived CDs only show bright fluorescence in diluted solution because of aggregation-induced quenching effect, hence cannot exhibit solid-state long-lived room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) in ambient conditions. Herein, matrix-free solid-state RTP with an average lifetime of 0.

This retrospective study evaluated the safety and efficacy of SURGICEL® Powder-Absorbable Hemostatic Powder (SP) made from oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC) in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Ninety-one patients who underwent TKA at Peking University Third Hospital between January 2024 and July 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. Hemostatic effectiveness was evaluated by comparing perioperative blood loss, hemoglobin (Hb) levels, hematocrit (HCT), and transfusion rates.

The Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) data of Nelumbo Nucifera fibre is utilized to study multifaceted properties. Rietveld refinement was carried out along with cellulose phase. The crystallite size was computed using the Scherrer equation, and through first principle calculations, it has been illustrated and concluded that the size is not ellipsoidal, as previously suggested by other researchers; rather, it exhibits a multidimensional shape.
