Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are among the most abundant types of non-coding RNAs in the genome and exhibit particularly high expression levels in the brain, where they play crucial roles in various neurophysiological and neuropathological processes. Although ischemic stroke is a complex multifactorial disease, the involvement of brain-derived lncRNAs in its intricate regulatory networks remains inadequately understood. In this study, we established a cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model using middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in male Sprague-Dawley rats.

Background: A stable and reproducible experimental bacterial pneumonia model postintracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is necessary to help investigating the pathogenesis and novel treatments of Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP).
Aim: To establish a Gram-negative bacterial pneumonia-complicating ICH rat model and an acute lung injury (ALI)-complicating ICH rat model.
Methods: We established two standardized models of post-ICH pneumonia by nasal inoculation with () or intratracheal inoculation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

Lipids play an essential role in synaptic function, significantly impacting synaptic physiology through their dynamic nature and signaling capabilities. Membrane lipids, including cholesterol, phospholipids, and gangliosides, are crucial for synaptic organization and function. They act as structural integrators and signaling molecules, guiding vesicle intracellular movement and regulating enzyme activity to support neuronal activity.

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the leading cause of dementia, significantly impacts global public health, with cases expected to exceed 150 million by 2050. Late-onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD), predominantly influenced by the APOE-ε4 allele, exhibits complex pathogenesis involving amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques, neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs), neuroinflammation, and blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption. Proteomics has emerged as a pivotal technology in uncovering molecular mechanisms and identifying biomarkers for early diagnosis and intervention in AD.

Cadmium (Cd) is a heavy metal that is a major hazardous environmental contaminant, ubiquitously present in the environment. Cd exposure has been closely associated with an increased prevalence and severity of neurological and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). The blood-brain barrier (BBB) plays a crucial role in protecting the brain from external environmental factors.
