Despite the favorable effects of immunotherapies in multiple types of cancers, its complete success in CNS malignancies remains challenging. Recently, a successful clinical trial of cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cell immunotherapy in patients with glioblastoma (GBM) has opened a new avenue for adoptive cellular immunotherapies in CNS malignancies. Prompt from these findings, herein, we investigated whether dendritic cells (DC) in combination with cytokine-induced killer cells (DC-CIK) could also provide an alternative and more effective way to improve the efficacy of GBM treatment.

Purpose: Despite growing research on financial toxicity among cancer survivors, large gaps remain in understanding how to intervene to minimize financial toxicity. Uptake and efficacy of interventions mitigating cancer financial toxicity, though promising, remain limited and inconsistent. To date, survivor preferences for financial toxicity interventions are underexplored.

Clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common origin of pancreatic metastases (PM). Distinct genomic aberrations, favorable prognosis, and clinical observations on high angiogenesis, and succeeding tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) sensitivity have been reported in PM-ccRCC. However, no functional or single-cell studies have been conducted thus far.

Measurable residual disease (MRD) monitoring in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with an FLT3 internal tandem duplication (FLT3-ITDpos) has been hampered by the broad heterogeneity of ITD mutations. Using our recently developed FLT3-ITD paired-end next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based MRD assay (limit of detection 10-4 to 10-5), we evaluated the prognostic impact of MRD at different time points in 157 patients with FLT3-ITDpos AML who were enrolled in the German-Austrian Acute Myeloid Leukemia Study Group 16-10 trial and who were treated with a combination of intensive chemotherapy and midostaurin, followed by midostaurin maintenance. MRD negativity (MRDneg) after 2 cycles of chemotherapy (Cy2), which was observed in 111 of 142 (78%) patients, was predictive of superior 4-year rates of cumulative incidence of relapse (CIR) (4y-CIR; 26% vs 46%; P = .

Background: The monarchE and NATALEE trials demonstrated the benefit of CDK4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) therapy in adjuvant breast cancer (BC) treatment. Patient selection, based on clinical characteristics, delineated those at high (monarchE) and high/intermediate recurrence risk (NATALEE). This study employed a historical patient cohort to describe the proportion and prognosis of patients eligible for adjuvant CDK4/6i trials.
