In order to reduce the noise level of wheel loaders caused by gear pumps and realize environmentally sustainable development, the noise generation mechanism of a gear pump was studied, and the influence of flow pulsation and gear impact on noise was analyzed. In order to reduce the interference of other noise sources on the noise level of the gear pump, a noise test rig was established. The mixed noise signals obtained from the rig test were separated using the ICA model. The ICA model includes the following algorithms: The fast Fourier transform (FFT), independent component analysis (ICA) and inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT). Some theories about the influence of the teeth number and teeth profile on noise were analyzed by theory and simulation. A noise reduction strategy was proposed by increasing the teeth numbers and modifying the teeth profile of the gear pump. The tests results showed that the noise values of the external and the driver's ear of the wheel loader were reduced to 1 and 2.2 dB (A), respectively. This proves the effectiveness of the optimization scheme of gear pump noise reduction.

A comprehensive analysis of in vitro pumps used in cardiovascular research is provided in this review, with a focus on the characteristics of generated flows and principles of flow generations. The cardiovascular system, vital for nutrient circulation and waste removal, generates complex hemodynamics critical for endothelial cell function. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) could be caused by the disturbances in these flows, including aneurysms, atherosclerosis, and heart defects.

The existing Pascal curve gears are limited by inflexible pitch curves and constrained transmission ratio changes, which hinders the application in a range of mechanical systems that require more adaptable gear solutions. To address this, a design procedure for higher-order multisegment denatured Pascal curve gear is proposed. A unified mathematical expression for the Pascal curve gear family is derived, enabling the construction of non-circular gears with free-form pitch curves by adjusting key parameters and offering more flexible pitch curve and a wider range of transmission ratios.

The operation of microfluidic devices requires precise and constant fluid flow. Microfluidic systems in low-resource settings require a portable, inexpensive, and electricity-free pumping approach due to the rising demand for microfluidics in point-of-care testing (POCT). Open-source alternatives, employing 3D printing and motors, offer affordability.

Today, there are many diagnostic methods and advanced measurement techniques enabling the correct diagnosis and assessment of the type and degree of wear of cogwheels (gears, pumps, etc.). The present study presents an analysis of the surface defects of a cogwheel of an oil pump prototype (3PW-BPF-24).

The lubrication performance of a straight-line conjugate internal meshing gear pump is poor under the low-speed, high-pressure operating conditions of the volumetric servo speed control system, and it is difficult to establish a full fluid lubricating oil film between the gear ring and the housing. This leads to significant wear and severe heating between the gear ring and the housing. The lubrication performance of the interface moving pair of the electro-hydraulic actuator pump gear ring housing can be improved by designing a reasonable lubrication bearing structure for the gear ring housing.
