Objectives: The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of hepatic magnetic resonance imaging-proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF) for the assessment of liver steatosis (LS) with histology as reference standard.
Methods: A systematic literature search was performed to identify pertinent studies. Quality analyses were conducted by Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2. Diagnostic data were extracted and inconsistency index was calculated for LS≥G1, LS≥G2, and LS=G3, respectively. The area under summary receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) served as the indicator of diagnostic accuracy. The pooled sensitivity and specificity were calculated if threshold effect was absent.
Results: Thirteen studies containing 1100 subjects were included. There was significant threshold effect for LS≥G1. The AUCs for LS≥G1, LS≥G2, and LS=G3 were 0.98 (95% confidence interval (CI) 0.76, 1.00), 0.91 (95% CI 0.89, 0.94), and 0.92 (95% CI 0.89, 0.94), respectively. The pooled sensitivities for LS≥G2 and LS=G3 were 0.83 (95% CI 0.75, 0.88) and 0.79 (95% CI 0.63, 0.90), respectively; the pooled specificities for LS≥G2 and LS=G3 were 0.89 (95% CI 0.84, 0.92) and 0.89 (95% CI 0.84, 0.92), respectively.
Conclusions: MRI-PDFF has high diagnostic accuracy at detecting and grading LS with histology as reference standard, suggesting that MRI-PDFF is able to provide an accurate quantification of LS in clinical trials and patient care.
Key Point: • MRI-PDFF is able to provide an accurate quantification of LS in clinical trials and patient care.

Background: With the increasing number of older adults, musculoskeletal disorders such as sarcopenia have become increasingly important to research because of their strong association with falls and fractures. Sarcopenia, which is characterized by reduced muscle mass, is common among older adults and significantly increases the risk of falls. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the SARC-F and SARC-CalF questionnaires, along with calf circumference measurements, for sarcopenia screening among Thai community-dwelling older adults, following the 2019 criteria of the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia.

Rationale And Objectives: To explore the clinical and computed tomography (CT) characteristics of early-stage lung adenocarcinoma (LADC) that presents with an irregular shape.
Materials And Methods: The CT data of 575 patients with stage IA LADC and 295 with persistent inflammatory lesion (PIL) manifesting as subsolid nodules (SSNs) were analyzed retrospectively. Among these patients, we selected 233 patients with LADC and 140 patients with PIL, who showed irregular SSNs, hereinafter referred to as irregular LADC (I-LADC) and irregular PIL (I-PIL), respectively.

Background: Type I allergy to sweat is involved in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD) and cholinergic urticaria (CholU), with MGL_1304 from Malassezia globosa being the major causative antigen. Currently, no standard diagnostic test exists for sweat allergy that uses serum.
Methods: The ImmunoCAP (iCAP) system to measure antigen-specific IgE was developed using recombinant MGL_1304 (rMGL_1304).

Introduction: The role of endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration and fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNA/B) in the clinical management of gastrointestinal lymphoma has not been extensively studied. This study investigates the use of EUS-FNA/B in the diagnosis of first-time and recurrent gastrointestinal lymphomas at a large academic institution.
Materials And Methods: A total of 40 patients who had final diagnosis of lymphoma according to the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of tumors of hematopoietic lymphoid tissues who underwent EUS-FNA/B were included in the study.
