Article Synopsis
  • A 53-year-old woman had a 15-mm submucosal stomach tumor identified through endoscopic ultrasonography, indicating it was deep in the stomach wall.
  • The surgical team utilized a new hybrid endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) method, which involved marking the tumor, making a mucosal incision, and then carefully isolating and excising the tumor with the use of a snare and forceps.
  • The procedure was completed in under 20 minutes with no complications, and the patient was able to go home shortly after surgery.

Article Synopsis
  • COX-2-selective drugs were pulled from the market due to heart-related side effects, leading researchers to seek new COX-2 inhibitors that also protect cardiovascular health.
  • Newly created 15 diaryl-1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-]pyrimidine hybrids showed promising results as dual COX-2 and sEH inhibitors, with some compounds demonstrating greater potency and selectivity compared to celecoxib.
  • The most effective compounds also showed strong anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties while having a positive impact on heart health, and their molecular binding was analyzed to confirm their selectivity for COX-2.

State Key Laboratory of Component-Based Chinese Medicine, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin 301617, China; Haihe Laboratory of Modern Chinese Medicine, Tianjin 301617, China. Electronic address:

After consultation with external experts, the authors acknowledged discrepancies in the classification of certain Berberis samples discussed in the article. Berberis is one of the most complex plant genera, and identifications are very hard, limited to only a handful of experts due to rampant hybridizations and other issues of reticulate evolution. This article has therefore been withdrawn at the request of the authors and with the consent of the editor until the species identification issue has been resolved.
