The active species of the Ishikawa´s reagent [,-diethyl-(1,1,2,3,3,3-hexafluoropropyl)amine] is a fluorinating hexafluoropropylamine used to convert alcohols into alkyl fluorides. On the other hand, it is also an example of model compound useful to probe conformational preferences using spectroscopic information from diastereotopic fluorines. Moreover, the possibility of experiencing both the generalized anomeric and effects makes the Ishikawa´s reagent an ideal choice to study the governing stereoelectronic interactions of the conformational equilibrium of organofluorine compounds. The conformational equilibrium of the Ishikawa´s reagent was analyzed using NMR coupling constant data in different solvents, since the orientation of the diastereotopic fluorines relative to H-2 and F-2 changes with the medium. In nonpolar cyclohexane solvent, the preferred conformation experiences a weaker steric and electrostatic repulsion. The conformational behavior changes in the more polar pyridine solution, where the double fluorine effect takes place, since F-2 is preferably to both diastereotopic fluorines. An analysis of the rotation around the N-C(F) bond indicates the manifestation of anomeric interactions ( → σ*), which can be demonstrated by means of F chemical shifts. The results were rationalized with the aid of theoretical calculations and natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis, allowing for the evaluation of competing steric, electrostatic and hyperconjugative interactions.

Background: Predicting response to targeted cancer therapies increasingly relies on both simple and complex genetic biomarkers. Comprehensive genomic profiling using high-throughput assays must be evaluated for reproducibility and accuracy compared with existing methods.
Methods: This study is a multicenter evaluation of the Oncomine™ Comprehensive Assay Plus (OCA Plus) Pan-Cancer Research Panel for comprehensive genomic profiling of solid tumors.

A fluorescence "turn-off-on" nanoprobe is designed by using europium-doped strontium molybdate perovskite quantum dots (Eu:SMO PQDs) for the sequential detection of hypoxanthine (Hx) and Fe. The Eu:SMO PQDs were prepared by the sol-gel method using Sr(NO), (NH)MoO.4HO, and Eu(OCOCH) as precursors.

Boron compounds are widely employed in organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and materials science. Among them, borylated heterocycles serve as versatile synthons for the construction of new C-C or C-heteroatom bonds via coupling or radical processes. Such methods for direct C-H borylation reactions are of high synthetic value to reduce the number of synthetic steps and the amount of waste and to improve efficiency.

An online reactive internal extraction electrospray ionization (iEESI) method was developed for the rapid determination of organic and inorganic speciation information for selenium in poultry tissue samples without complex sample pretreatment. The addition of citric acid as a reducing agent to the internal extraction solvent of methanol/acetic acid (99:1, V/V) for iEESI resulted in the reduction of selenate in the sample to selenite, accompanied by the production of malic acid as an oxidation product. The quantitative analysis of selenate was conducted by using malic acid.

Currently, the development of red Mn-activated fluoride luminescent materials attracts a lot of attention in optical thermometry sensors, solid lighting, display, and plant growth areas. Nevertheless, the thermal stability of Mn-activated fluoride luminescent materials is still a crucial issue. Herein, a new red RbNaVF:Mn luminescent material with outstanding thermal stability was successfully synthesized through the facial coprecipitation method.
