The ubiquitin (Ub) ligase E6AP, which is encoded by the UBE3A gene, has been associated with several human diseases including cervical cancer and Angelman syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder. Yet, our knowledge about disease-relevant substrates of E6AP is still limited. The formation of a thioester complex between Ub and the catalytic Cys residue of E6AP represents an essential intermediate step in E6AP-mediated ubiquitination.

The design and fabrication of nanocatalysts with high accessibility and sintering resistance remain significant challenges in heterogeneous electrocatalysis. Herein, a novel catalyst is introduced that combines electronic pumping with alloy crystal facet engineering. At the nanoscale, the electronic pump leverages the chemical potential difference to drive electron migration from one region to another, separating and transferring electron-hole pairs.

Using a direct knitting strategy, we successfully prepared a novel heterogeneous catalyst consisting of pyridine-bridged bis(imidazolium-2-ylidene) palladium complexes (CNC-Pd) embedded in a knitted network polymer. The resulting catalysts (HCP-CNC-Pd-d) exhibited high specific surface areas of 982 m2 g-1 with microporous and mesoporous structures. The large surface area enhances contact between the substrate and the catalytic center, while the strong chelation between CNC and the metal ion ensures the catalyst's durability.

Zearalenone (ZEN) is a harmful macrolide mycotoxin, posing a serious hazard to human health. In this study, a highly efficient ZEN-degrading bacterium Gordonia hydrophobica HAU421 was isolated from soil by using spiramycin (SPM)-containing selective medium. Mass spectrometry analysis revealed that strain HAU421 could transform ZEN into hydrolyzed zearalenone (HZEN), zearalenol (ZEL), and hydrolyzed zearalenol (HZEL).

Regeneration of diabetic bone defects remains a formidable challenge due to the chronic hyperglycemic state, which triggers the accumulation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and reactive oxygen species (ROS). To address this issue, we have engineered a bimetallic metal-organic framework-derived Mn@CoO@Pt nanoenzyme loaded with alendronate and Mg ions (termed MCPtA) to regulate the hyperglycemic microenvironment and recover the osteogenesis/osteoclast homeostasis. Notably, the Mn atom substitution in the CoO nanocrystalline structure could modulate the electronic structure and significantly improve the SOD/CAT catalytic activity for ROS scavenging.
