Exercise stress test-induced hypofibrinolysis and changes in circulating levels of several interleukins have been observed in aortic stenosis (AS). However, it is unknown whether the pattern of exercise-induced changes in oxidative stress differs between AS patients and controls and if the differences are associated with changes in fibrinolysis and inflammation. We studied 32 asymptomatic patients with moderate-to-severe AS and 32 controls of similar age, sex, and body mass index.

Restoration of postoperative urinary continence after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is affected by diverse factors. We compared the pad-free and positive margin rates of patients who underwent RARP with or without bladder neck sparing (BNS) for prostate cancer. During this systematic review and metaanalysis, we performed an electronic search of the Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and PubMed to find original articles comparing RARP with and without BNS for prostate cancer.

Background/aim: The sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is a frequently overlooked source of lower back pain (LBP). Recently, it has gained recognition as a significant pain generator, prompting increased interest in surgeries targeting this area. Traditionally, open SIJ fusion was used to stabilize pelvic and sacral fractures, and then it was adapted for use in pain management until the development of minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

Introduction: Racial disparities in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) utilization across gastrointestinal (GI) cancers are not well characterized. We evaluated racial/ethnic disparities in the use of MIS approaches and associated outcomes.
Methods: We analyzed a cohort of patients with GI cancer in the National Cancer Database (2010-2020).

Background: The Defense and Veterans Pain Rating Scale (DVPRS) is a pain assessment tool combining a numerical rating scale (NRS) with descriptive words, colors, and facial expressions. This study aimed to validate the Korean version of the DVPRS (K-DVPRS) for postoperative pain assessment.
Methods: This study included patients who underwent elective laparoscopic or robotic abdominal surgery.
