Purpose: To assess the surgical outcomes of Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Extravesical Ureteral Reimplantation (RALUR-EV) in infants under one year of age with primary vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) as compared to older children.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 48 children with VUR who underwent unilateral or bilateral RALUR-EV between June 2018 and December 2022. Patients were divided into two groups: Group A (25 infants under one year) and Group B (23 children over one year).

Background The incidence of obesity and related comorbidities, such as diabetes, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and osteoarthritis, is increasing. Many patients with obesity do not respond to conservative treatments. For these patients, bariatric surgery, also known as metabolic bariatric surgery (MBS), has emerged as an effective option.

Background: Achalasia is characterized by failure of relaxation of the lower oesophageal sphincter (LOS) and abnormal peristalsis during swallowing. The study aimed to observe the effects of intervention in three sub-types of achalasia and compare the intervention outcomes among the three sub-types.
Methods: Forty-one patients underwent Eckardt scoring for severity of achalasia, followed by high-resolution manometry (HRM).
Background: This study aimed to compare outcomes following antral preserving (AP) and antral resecting (AR) laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) in terms of weight loss, gastric emptying time, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), resolution of associated medical problems, and complications.
Methods: Patients were prospectively randomized into two groups: the AR group (resection starting 2 cm from the pylorus) and the AP group (resection at 5 cm from the pylorus). Follow-up evaluations included assessments of weight loss using percentage of excess weight loss (%EWL) and percentage of total weight loss (%TWL), gastric emptying, GERD symptoms, associated medical problem resolution, residual gastric volume, and complications.

The advantage of robot-assisted surgery (RAS) is its ability to perform fine surgical operations with higher-resolution images. RAS should be particularly beneficial for small children, but it requires a certain amount of working space. The da Vinci Surgical System instructions state that careful consideration of indications for robotic surgery in patients weighing ≤ 10 kg is required.
