This study investigated the influence of match phase and field position on collective team behaviour in Australian Rules football (AF). Data from professional male athletes (years 24.4 ± 3.7; cm 185.9 ± 7.1; kg 85.4 ± 7.1), were collected via 10 Hz global positioning system (GPS) during a competitive AFL match. Five spatiotemporal metrics (-axis centroid, -axis centroid, length, width, and surface area), occupancy maps, and Shannon Entropy (ShannEn) were analysed by match phase (offensive, defensive, and contested) and field position (defensive 50, defensive midfield, forward midfield, and forward 50). A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) revealed that field position had a greater influence on the -axis centroid comparative to match phase. Conversely, match phase had a greater influence on length, width, and surface area comparative to field position. Occupancy maps revealed that players repositioned behind centre when the ball was in their defensive half and moved forward of centre when the ball was in their forward half. Shannon Entropy revealed that player movement was more variable during offence and defence (ShannEn = 0.82-0.93) compared to contest (ShannEn = 0.68-0.79). Spatiotemporal metrics, occupancy maps, and Shannon Entropy may assist in understanding the game style of AF teams.

Distributed feedback lasers, which feature rapid wavelength tunability, are not presently available in the yellow and orange spectral regions, impeding spectroscopic studies of short-lived species that absorb light in this range. To meet this need, a rapidly tunable laser system was constructed, characterized, and demonstrated for measurements of the NH radical at 597.4 nm.

This paper proposes a registration approach rooted in point cloud clustering and segmentation, named Clustering and Segmentation Normal Distribution Transform (CSNDT), with the aim of improving the scope and efficiency of point cloud registration. Traditional Normal Distribution Transform (NDT) algorithms face challenges during their initialization phase, leading to the loss of local feature information and erroneous mapping. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a method of adaptive cell partitioning.

Molecular Beam Epitaxial Growth and Optical Properties of InN Nanostructures on Large Lattice-Mismatched Substrates.

Materials (Basel)

State Key Laboratory of Integrated Optoelectronics, College of Electronic Science and Engineering, Jilin University, Changchun 130012, China.

Narrow-gap InN is a desirable candidate for near-infrared (NIR) optical communication applications. However, the absence of lattice-matched substrates impedes the fabrication of high-quality InN. In this paper, we employed Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) to grow nanostructured InN with distinct growth mechanisms.

There is limited information on the quantification of external load and reconditioning programs during adductor longus injuries in soccer. This case report describes a male professional soccer player () returning to performance following an adductor longus muscle injury during the 2022/2023 season. The player suffered the injury during a change of direction in a match.

: Exploring daily lifestyle characteristics in individuals with gaming disorder (GD) might identify underlying causes and intervention points. However, integrative and subjective assessments are lacking in studies on this topic. This study aimed to assess circadian typology and physical activity in young adults with GD.
