Mutations in B gene have been reported in ethambutol (EMB) resistance () isolates. The aim of this study was survey on B 306 and 406 EMB resistant isolated from patients in West of Iran (2014-2015). Fifty strains of from patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) were considered. Drug susceptibility using proportional method was performed. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) -DNA sequencing was applied for mutation in B 306 and 406 codon detection. Data were analyzed in SPSS 16 software using descriptive statistics and Fisher's exact test (p<0.05). In this study 7 (14%) isolates were resistant to EMB. 6 (85.71%) and 1 (14.28%) resistant isolates had B 306 and 304 codon mutations, respectively. Between embB306 mutations and resistance to EMB and MDR isolates had a significant relationship (p<0.001). The data indicated that B 306 mutations have effect on EMB resistant. Detection of EMB resistant and these mutations prominent for antibiotic prescription.

Objective: Patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplants (HSCT) are at increased risk for infection (CDI). The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of oral vancomycin prophylaxis (OVP) for CDI in HSCT patients.
Design: Single-center, retrospective cohort.

Cases of antibiotic-resistant () infections are becoming increasingly frequent and represent a major threat to our ability to treat cancer patients. The emergence of antimicrobial resistance threatens the treatment of infections. In this study, the antimicrobial profiles, virulent genes, and the frequency of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) gene carriage in fecal isolates from cancer patients at the Laquintinie Hospital in Douala (Cameroon) were determined.

Background: India has the highest global burden of human tuberculosis (TB) and the largest cattle herd with endemic bovine TB (bTB). However, the extent of cross-species transmission and the zoonotic spillover risk, including drug-resistant complex (MTBC) strains circulating in cattle, remain uncharacterized.
Methods: To address this major knowledge gap, we investigated tissue samples from 500 apparently healthy cattle at a slaughterhouse in Chennai, India.

Background: We investigated hospitalized carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) and extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales (ESBL-E) cases with and without COVID-19, as identified through Emerging Infections Program surveillance in 10 sites from 2020 to 2022.
Methods: We defined a CRE case as the first isolation of , complex, , , , or resistant to any carbapenem. We defined an ESBL-E case as the first isolation of , , or resistant to any third-generation cephalosporin and nonresistant to all carbapenems tested.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as novel blood-based biomarkers for various pathologies. The development of methods to enrich cell-specific EVs from biofluids has enabled us to monitor difficult-to-access organs, such as the brain, in real time without disrupting their function, thus serving as liquid biopsy. Burgeoning evidence indicates that the contents of neuron-derived EVs (NDEs) in blood reveal dynamic alterations that occur during neurodegenerative pathogenesis, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), reflecting a disease-specific molecular signature.
