With an increasingly elderly population, families are finding it increasingly challenging to coordinate care for their older family members. This paper reports on the findings of InfoSAGE, an online private social network that has tools for communication and care coordination for elders and their families. The InfoSAGE system has 257 registered users; 52 of these opted into an in-depth longitudinal study. A descriptive analysis of these early participants, the online family networks, and barriers to participation that were encountered are presented.

Background: Post-mortem neuropathological examinations following the first active immunotherapy strategy (AN-1792, Elan Pharmaceuticals, 2000) for Alzheimer's disease (AD) have evidenced amyloid-β (Aβ) plaque clearance and increased microglial phagocytic activity in immunised individuals. This study characterises the epigenetic profiles of individuals who underwent Aβ immunotherapy with the aim of discovering novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers.
Method: DNA and RNA was isolated from post-mortem prefrontal cortex tissue of immunised cases (n = 14) who received varying doses (ug) and number of doses during the trial period.

Background: Neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) are core features of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and have significant impact on patients, caregivers, and families. Worse NPS scores are associated with worse function and higher need for care. It is unclear if individual NPS symptoms may differentially affect functional decline and may be more effectively targeted to improve patient outcomes.

Medicinal plants serve as vital resources for preventing and treating diseases, with their flowers, fruits, leaves, roots, or entire plants being utilized in the pharmaceutical industry or as direct therapeutic agents. During our investigation of microfungi associated with medicinal plants in Guizhou and Sichuan Provinces, China, several asexual and sexual fungal morphs were collected. Multi-locus phylogenetic analysis based on combined ITS, LSU, SSU and datasets revealed that these taxa are related to the family Dictyosporiaceae.
