Background And Objectives: Sinonasal fungal balls (FBs) most commonly occur in the maxillary sinus, followed by the sphenoid sinus (SS). Relatively little is known about the predisposing factors and pathogenesis of unilateral sphenoid sinus fungal balls (SSFBs) compared to maxillary sinus FBs. We investigated whether anatomical variations have clinical implications for the location of unilateral SSFBs.

Concha bullosa is a common anatomical variation involving pneumatization of the middle turbinate. Although usually asymptomatic, a large concha bullosa can obstruct nasal airflow and cause related symptoms. Rhinoliths, calcified formations typically found in the inferior meatus, rarely appear within concha bullosa.

Purpose: Detailed assessment of the extrasinusal pneumatization of the superior and middle turbinate (SCB, MCB), olfactory fossa (OFP), and nasal septum (NSP) in coronal and sagittal sphenoid sinus (SS) pneumatization types provides a precise understanding of the surgical corridors used for skull base surgery. We aimed to analyze the relationships among these variations using computed tomography (CT) images.
Methods: CT images of 153 patients were retrospectively analyzed for all types of sinonasal pneumatizations and volumes of SCB and sphenoid sinus, together with the prevalence of mucosal thickening of the sphenoid sinus (MTSS).

To explore the relevant anatomical factors in the pathogenesis of chronic dacryocystitis based on CT radiomics. A retrospective analysis was conducted on the general data and sinus CT materials of 85 patients with chronic dacryocystitis(case group) admitted to our department from December 2020 to December 2023, and 85 individuals undergoing physical examination(control group) during the same period. The differences in anatomical parameters between the two groups were compared to study the morphological characteristics of the nasolacrimal duct in patients with chronic dacryocystitis.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the presence and correlation of paranasal sinus pneumatization among patients with and without nasal septal deviations (NSD), to enhance clinical understanding of sinonasal anatomical variations.
Materials And Methods: It is descriptive, retrospective study under a monocentric, utilizing institutional archives. 30 subjects with NSD and 30 without NSD were selected.
