Background: Delayed radiation-induced complications after stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for arteriovenous malformations (AVM) have scarcely been described in the literature, and their incidence, pathophysiology, and treatment remain unclear. Additionally, the literature regarding these complications is confusing. The authors present a well-documented case report describing these late complications, adding evidence to the possible common pathophysiological mechanism underlying them, and illustrating an effective treatment modality when they occur.

Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCLs) are genetically heterogeneous neurodegenerative disorders, characterized by progressive cognitive and motor decline, epilepsy, visual impairment, and shortened life-expectancy. CLN6-related NCLs include both late-infantile and adult myoclonic form. We report a 21-year-old patient, with mild developmental delay, who developed occipital seizures at 14 years, and subsequently cognitive decline, cortical myoclonus, and photosensitivity at low and higher frequencies.

Cyclic Cushing's syndrome is a sub-entity of Cushing's syndrome, characterized by repeated episodes of excess cortisol (peaks) followed by spontaneous periods of normal or low cortisol secretion (troughs). Although considered rare, its prevalence reaches 70/514 to 91/514 (14 to 18%) in patients with Cushing's syndrome according to its definition in some reported series and can concern all etiologies of Cushing's syndrome. Physicians should be alert to the presence of cyclical Cushing's syndrome in patients with fluctuating symptoms or where the results of biochemical investigations indicate eu- or hypocortisolism in patients with clinical Cushing's syndrome.

Mixed neuroendocrine non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNENs) are rare mixed tumors containing both neuroendocrine and non-neuroendocrine components that occupy at least 30% of the whole tumor. Biologically, both components appear to derive from an identical cellular precursor undergoing early dual differentiation or late transdifferentiation. While our understanding of MiNENs has improved in recent years, many areas of uncertainty remain.

People living with HIV can achieve viral suppression through timely HIV care continuum (HCC) engagement (ie, diagnosis, linkage to HIV care, retention in care, and adherence to prescribed treatment regimens). Black populations have poorer viral suppression, suboptimal HCC engagement, and higher levels of racism-related mistrust. The state of the evidence linking suboptimal HCC engagement to racism among US Black populations is assessed in this article.
