Background: Hypertension is the most common primary diagnosis associated with postpartum readmissions within 42 days of delivery hospitalization. In the United States, nearly half of the cases of eclampsia, a severe form of preeclampsia, develop during the postpartum period, and the postpartum onset of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, like antepartum hypertension poses long-term health risks to pregnant individuals, including an increased likelihood of developing overall cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and chronic hypertension. In this paper, we estimate the trends in the incidence of readmissions for postpartum hypertension within 42 days of delivery discharge in the US, disaggregated by median household income.

The Black Sea is affected by numerous anthropogenic pressures, such as eutrophication and pollution through coastal and river discharges, fisheries overexploitation, species invasions, and the impacts of climate change. Growing concerns regarding the cumulative effects of these pressures have necessitated the need for an ecosystem approach to assessing the state of this basin. In recent years, the European Commission-JRC has developed a scientific and modelling tool, the Blue2 Modelling Framework with the aim of exploring the consequences of EU management and policy options on marine ecosystems.

The Danish Cancer Society Centre for Research on Survivorship and Late Adverse Effects, Aarhus and Aalborg University Hospitals, Denmark; Dep. of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark; Dep. of Surgery, Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus, Denmark.

Background And Purpose: The prevalence of sequelae following rectal cancer (RC) treatment is high. We investigate the prevalence and temporal change in sexual dysfunction among male RC patient, along with their counselling and treatment needs and associations between sexual dysfunction and clinical factors. Patient/materials and methods: Patient-reported outcome measures were completed 3 and 12 months after RC surgery.

Background: Extraintestinal symptoms (EIS) in inflammatory bowel diseases, including fatigue, depression and anxiety, are highly prevalent, but poorly understood. Alterations of brain function may contribute to EIS, but their association with disease activity is unclear. This study analyzed intrinsic neural activity (INA) of individuals with Crohn's disease (CD) in different disease states and examined the relationship between INA and EIS.

Curing Alzheimer's disease remains hampered by an incomplete understanding of its pathophysiology and progression. Exploring dysfunction in medial temporal lobe networks, particularly the anterior-temporal (AT) and posterior-medial (PM) systems, may provide key insights, as these networks exhibit functional connectivity alterations along the entire Alzheimer's continuum, potentially influencing disease propagation. However, the specific changes in each network and their clinical relevance across stages are not yet fully understood.
