A 75-year-old patient with a history of mitral and aortic valve replacement surgery 7 years ago, presented with progressive dyspnea. Transesophageal echocardiogram showed a mass suggestive of bioprosthetic mitral valve thrombosis. We present the investigation process using imaging, surgical findings, nuclear medicine, and histopathology that result in the diagnosis of cardiac angiosarcoma.

Atmospheric CO is thought to play a fundamental role in Earth's climate regulation. Yet, for much of Earth's geological past, atmospheric CO has been poorly constrained, hindering our understanding of transitions between cool and warm climates. Beginning ~370 million years ago in the Late Devonian and ending ~260 million years ago in the Permian, the Late Palaeozoic Ice Age was the last major glaciation preceding the current Late Cenozoic Ice Age and possibly the most intense glaciation witnessed by complex lifeforms.

We present a case of a 60-year-old man with claudication in his right foot; the patient had received stent-graft implantation for the right superficial femoral artery (SFA) 1 year ago. Computed tomography angiography suggested stent occlusion of the right SFA, and a thrombus was considered to cause occlusion. To avoid distal embolization, we performed lesion recanalization via a trans-ankle intervention.

Conservationists are increasingly leveraging systematic conservation planning (SCP) to inform restoration actions that enhance biodiversity. However, restoration frequently drives ecological transformations at local scales, potentially resulting in trade-offs among wildlife species and communities. The Conservation Interactions Principle (CIP), coined more than 15 years ago, cautions SCP practitioners regarding the importance of jointly and fully evaluating conservation outcomes across the landscape over long timeframes.

The standardization of preoperative imaging in primary hyperparathyroidism is one of the current challenges of endocrine surgery. A correct localization of the hypersecretory gland by neck ultrasound and 99mTc-sestamibi (MIBI) scintigraphy are not sufficiently sensitive in some cases. In recent years, CT-4D, 18F-Fluorocholine PET/CT, and radio-guided parathyroidectomy have come into common use.
