In this work, the microstructural evolution and magnetic performance of the melt-spun amorphous and amorphous-crystalline FeCoNiSiB high-entropy alloys (HEAs) during crystallization were investigated, respectively. Upon heating fully amorphous ribbons, a metastable BCC supersaturated solid solution together with a little NiSi crystals first precipitated and then the (Fe,Co)₂B crystals formed until the full crystallization was achieved. With further increasing temperature after full crystallization, a polymorphic transformation from a metastable BCC phase to two types of FCC solid solutions occurred. For the amorphous-crystalline HEAs, the dominant crystallization products were the metastable FCC but not BCC crystals. During crystallization, the primary metastable FCC crystals first transform into the metastable BCC crystals and then the newly-generated BCC phase transforms into two types of FCC phases with further increasing temperature. This temperature dependence of the gradual polymorphic transformation results in the change of magnetic properties of the present high-entropy amorphous alloys.

Background: The causes of breast cancer are poorly understood. A potential risk factor is Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a lifelong infection nearly everyone acquires. EBV-transformed human mammary cells accelerate breast cancer when transplanted into immunosuppressed mice, but the virus can disappear as malignant cells reproduce.

Observational studies have reported an association between lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs). This study used Mendelian Randomization (MR) and multivariable MR (MVMR) to explore the causal relationship between lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs). We performed a bidirectional two-sample mendelian randomization analyses based on genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics of Lp(a) and nine IMIDs, specifically celiac disease (CeD), Crohn's disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), multiple sclerosis (MS), psoriasis (Pso), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), type 1 diabetes (T1D), and summary-level data for lipid traits.

In this contribution, we apply our newly developed ball-milling platform, which combines Raman spectroscopy and thermal (IR) imaging, as well as acoustic and high-speed optical video recordings, to the synthesis and transformation of citric acid-isonicotinamide (1:2) cocrystal polymorphs in transparent PMMA jars. Particularly, we demonstrate how Raman, temperature, acoustic, and video data are complementary and enable detection and connection of chemical and physical events happening during ball-milling in a time-resolved manner. Importantly, we show that the formation of the three cocrystal polymorphs can be detected through acoustic analyses solely.

White lupin (Lupinus albus L.) is an ancient grain legume that is still undergoing improvement of domestication traits, including vernalization-responsiveness, providing frost tolerance and preventing winter flowering in autumn-sowing agriculture, and vernalization-independence, conferring drought escape by rapid flowering in spring-sowing. A recent genome-wide association study highlighted several loci significantly associated with the most contrasting phenotypes, including deletions in the promoter of the FLOWERING LOCUS T homolog, LalbFTc1, and some DArT-seq/silicoDArT loci.
