The first catalyst for the alkoxycarbonylation of gem-difluoroalkenes is described. This novel catalytic transformation proceeds in the presence of Pd(acac) /1,2-bis((di-tert-butylphosphan-yl)methyl)benzene (btbpx) (L4) and allows for an efficient and straightforward access to a range of difluoromethylated esters in high yields and regioselectivities. The synthetic utility of the protocol is showcased in the practical synthesis of a Cyclandelate analogue using this methodology as the key step.

Objective: Waist circumference measurement is commonly used as a method for predicting the visceral fat area. However, waist circumference is difficult to measure, and there is a large margin of error between measurements. Visceral fat is adipose tissue that accumulates in the abdominal cavity, and when it accumulates in excess, abdominal computed tomography reveals a prominent protrusion of the anterior-posterior diameter of the abdomen in a coronal section at the umbilicus level.

Background: Stigma against persons living with substance use disorders (PLSUD) fosters social and health inequities.
Aim: We aimed to map different populations targeted by antistigma interventions, analyze specific characteristics of these interventions, and identify and categorize the theoretical frameworks used in these interventions.
Methods: We examined randomized controlled trials and quasi or pre-experimental studies targeting stigma against PLSUD.

As a vital process for solar fuel synthesis, water oxidation remains a challenging reaction to perform using durable and cost-effective systems. Despite decades of intense research, our understanding of the detailed processes involved is still limited, particularly under photochemical conditions. Recent research has shown that the overall kinetics of water oxidation by a molecular dyad depends on the coordination between photocharge generation and the subsequent chemical steps.

Carbon dots (CDs) are emerging novel fluorescent sensing nanomaterials owing to their tunable optical properties, biocompatibility, and eco-friendliness. Herein, we report a facile one-pot hydrothermal route for the synthesis of highly green fluorescent CDs using gallic acid (GA) as a single carbon source in ,-dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent, which serves as a nitrogen source and reaction medium. The optical properties of the synthesized GA-DMF CDs were systematically characterized by using UV-vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy, revealing strong green fluorescence.

Background: While electroconvulsive therapy and antidepressants are standard treatments for depressed pregnant women, they are not without threats. The objective of this study was to quantitative synthesis of the literature regarding the effect of yoga interventions on depressive symptoms in pregnant women.
Methods: Nine electronic databases were searched for primary studies with pregnant women with depression measured as outcomes and written in English.
