In this study TiO-mediated photocatalytic degradation of the persistent drug clozapine under the simulated solar radiation was studied for the first time. The experiments were conducted both in the ultrapure and river water, which enabled the assessment of the organic matrix impact. The direct and indirect photolysis experiments were conducted for a comparison. Influence of the catalyst loading on the efficiency of the process was also assessed, and the highest catalyst loading (300 mg L) was found to be the most effective. The TiO photocatalysis was extremely effective for clozapine degradation - the decomposition was almost 300 times faster in comparison to the direct photolysis (t = 1.7 min, neither clozapine, nor the intermediates were detected after 20 min of irradiation), and presence of the organic matrix did not negatively affect the process. Nevertheless the photocatalytic process turned out to be highly sensitive to act of the ROS scavengers. Thirteen transformation products (TPs) were found and their structures were elucidated by the means of high resolution mass spectrometry. Properties - toxicity, biodegradability, BCF and BAF - of TPs and the parent molecule were estimated with the use of computational methods. Identified TPs were found as generally less toxic and more biodegradable than clozapine.

Background: Indonesia's vast archipelago and substantial population size present unique challenges in addressing its multifaceted HIV epidemic, with 90% of its 514 districts and cities reporting cases. Identifying key populations (KPs) is essential for effectively targeting interventions and allocating resources to address the changing dynamics of the epidemic.
Objective: We examine the 2022 mapping of Indonesia's KPs to develop improved HIV and AIDS interventions.

Background: Global comparisons of the burden and impact of cancers of the brain and central nervous system (CNS) are critical for developing effective control strategies and generating etiological hypotheses to drive future research.
Methods: National incidence estimates were obtained from GLOBOCAN 2022, and recorded incidence data from the Cancer in Five Continents series, both developed and compiled by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. We examined the estimated age-standardized incidence rates in 185 countries, as well as time trends in recorded incidence in 35 countries, quantifying the direction and change in the magnitude of the rates using the estimated average percentage change (EAPC).

Foliar-applied Zn on Catharanthus roseus enhanced production of vindoline, the main impediment precursor for costly anticancer bisindoles. A leaf-abundant CrZIP was characterized for likely role in modulating vindoline metabolism. The leaf-localized Catharanthus roseus alkaloid, vindoline, is the major impediment precursor in the production of scanty and expensive anticancer bisindoles, vinblastine and vincristine.

Coal power plants adversely impact air pollution, but they also pose a risk to our water sources. Discharge wastewater from power plants may degrade the quality of nearby water bodies. This study evaluates the potential water-related environmental impacts of electricity generation at an ultra-supercritical coal power plant in Malaysia using the life cycle assessment method.

Orientation angles are commonly used to describe complex angular motions of the body. Selecting the most appropriate rotation sequence for a given segment's motion is crucial. The purpose of this study was to develop a set of generalisable, primary axis-centric sequence selection strategies and to compare the lean direction-lean-rotation (LDLR) sequence, selected for thoracic motion during golf driving based on the strategies, with the conventional rotation-bend-side bend (RBSB) sequence in assessing the level of inter-angle cross-talk.
