Two new sesquiterpene pyridine alkaloids, Chinese bittersweet alkaloid A () and Chinese bittersweet alkaloid B (), together with five known compounds 3β- hydroxyolean-9(11),12-diene, β-sitosterol, 1β,2β,6α,15β-tetraacetoxy-8β,9α- dibenzoyloxy-β-dihydroagarofuran, angulatin A and angulatin J, were isolated from the root barks of . The structures of and were elucidated as 1β,6α,8β,9β-tetraacetoxy-2β,4α-dihydroxy-15β-isobutanoyloxy-(3,12)-evoninoyloxy-β-dihydroagarofuran and 1β,2β,6α,8β,9β-pentaacetoxy-4α-hydroxy-15β- isobutanoyloxy- (3,12)- evoninoyloxy-β-dihydroagarofuran mainly by NMR spectroscopic means.

This study explores the development and application of gold and 4-mercaptopyridine (MPY) perovskite-engineered robust nanofibers (GLAMPER-NFs) for the ultrasensitive detection of Abscisic acid (ABA) under Raman spectroscopy, a crucial plant hormone. The GLAMPER-NFs composite material, consisting of MAPbCl nanofibers integrated with MPY-coated gold nanostructures, demonstrates exceptional performance in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-based sensing. The study elucidates the material structure and properties through comprehensive characterization using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared, and Raman spectroscopy.

Seed germination is critical to agricultural productivity because low germination rates and/or asynchronous germination negatively affect stand establishment and subsequent yields. Exposure to high temperatures during seed imbibition can decrease both germination synchrony and rates through an ABA-mediated process called thermoinhibition. Methods to reduce thermoinhibition would be agriculturally valuable, particularly with increasing global mean temperatures.

Rice seed germination is a crucial phase in rice growth and development, but its molecular mechanism has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we investigated the function of rice pfkB family gene OsPUKI in seed germination. Compared with WT (ZH11), ospuki mutants showed delayed seed germination and shorter shoot length.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is typically marked by motor dysfunction accompanied by loss of dopaminergic (DA) neurons and aggravated oxidative stress in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc). Atractylenolide-I (ATR-I) is a potent antioxidant sesquiterpene with neuroprotective properties. However, whether ATR-I plays a neuroprotective role against oxidative stress in PD remains unclear.
