Background: Urethral coitus can occur with vaginal and hymenal anomalies and typically presents with incontinence, dyspareunia, and recurrent urinary infections. Penetration of the urethra occurs unknowingly, and delayed diagnosis permits ongoing urethral coitus and dilation.
Case: A 23-year-old woman presented to a specialty clinic for a possible vaginal anomaly after failed intrauterine device insertion owing to difficulty locating the cervix. She reported regular menses and satisfying intercourse. Clinical examination revealed a dilated urethra from presumed urethral intercourse and a microperforate hymen with a 1-mm opening.
Conclusion: This case highlights the importance of taking a thorough sexual history paired with careful examination of the external genitalia to correctly identify and diagnose vaginal and hymenal anomalies and to prevent long-term complications.

Introduction: The objective of our study was to determine the prevalence of a delayed thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) rise in infants with congenital hypothyroidism (CH) born in Indiana. Additionally, we sought to determine whether there are differences in clinical or demographic factors associated with this delayed cohort compared to those seen in infants detected early.
Methods: Newborn screen (NBS) results were collected for all cases of CH diagnosed between 2012-2022.

The use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in surgery is expanding as the medical community started adopting it, with good results, for procedures with high risk of respiratory and hemodynamic instability. This technique provided the possibility to reduce the number of patients previously considered inoperable because of these limitations. Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) are rare neoplastic mediastinal lesions, with a reported incidence of 0.

Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy is a cornerstone treatment for many cancers, but it can induce severe immunotoxicity, including acute interstitial nephritis (AIN). Currently, kidney biopsy is required to differentiate ICI-AIN from other causes of acute kidney injury (AKI). However, this invasive approach can lead to morbidity, delayed glucocorticoid treatment for patients with AIN, and unnecessarily prolonged suspension of ICI therapy in non-AIN patients.
