Published: August 2019

Background: The ABILOCO is a self-reported questionnaire, specific for individuals with stroke, for the assessment of ability of locomotion. The ABILOCO has been investigated using the Rasch model and has shown satisfactory measurement properties. However, its test-retest reliability has not been investigated.

Objective: To investigate the test-retest reliability, that is, agreement, systematic and random variability of the ABILOCO Questionnaire in individuals with chronic stroke.

Design: A test-retest reliability study.

Setting: Research laboratory.

Participants: Thirty-one individuals (21 men and 10 women; mean age, 60 years), who had poststroke hemiparesis.

Intervention: Not applicable.

Main Outcome Measurement: The ABILOCO was applied twice, on two occasions, 5 to 7 days apart. Test-retest reliability was investigated, as follows: agreement by the calculation of intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs); systematic variability by the change in the mean; random variability by the standard error of measurement (SEM) and smallest real difference (SRD).

Results: Two outliers were identified in the sample. The ICC values for the whole sample were 0.76 (CI 95% 0.56 to 0.88), whereas the SEM (SEM%) and SRD (SRD%) were 0.55 (21%) and 1.52 (58%), respectively.

Conclusion: The ABILOCO showed to be reliable to be applied within clinical and research contexts for the assessment of changes in locomotion ability of a group of individuals with chronic stroke. However, it appears to be less suitable to detect changes at individual levels.

Level Of Evidence: III.

The Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT) is a classic test used to assess episodic verbal memory in research and clinical practice. We aimed to adapt the RAVLT materials into Russian, provide performance norms across the adult lifespan for the Russian adaptation, and develop a mobile application for automated RAVLT administration across languages. We created three psycholinguistically matched alternative versions of the RAVLT materials in Russian and incorporated them into a new tablet application.

Cultivating insect cells in glass vessels can be challenging. Due to uncontrolled cell adhesion and associated cell loss as well as clumping, the replication of experiments is put at risk. A cost-effective solution to improve and stabilize cultivation may be to silanize glass vessels, making them more hydrophobic and chemically inert.

Purpose: Despite the increasing interest in positive psychology and the functional characteristics of one of its practical derivations, strength-based parenting, there is a paucity of information regarding the assessment tools for strength-based parenting and their psychometric properties. Thus, this study aimed to translate the Strength-Based Parenting Scale (SBPS) into Persian and investigate its validity and reliability among Iranian adolescents.

Method: Of the 645 adolescents who completed the Persian translation of the SBPS (349 females, M = 14.

The faithful production of primordial germ cells (PGCs) in vitro opens a wide range of novel applications in reproductive biology and medicine. However, the reproducibility of PGCs culture conditions across different laboratories or breeds remains a challenge. Therefore, it is necessary to research the molecular dynamics that lead to the gradual establishment of cultured PGCs lines network.
