A gene encoding chitinase from has been isolated after optimization of PCR conditions. It was cloned with two different prometers, T7 promoter of the pJET1.2/blunt cloning vector and the SP6 promoter of pGEM®-T Easy vector. After transforming DH5α, two transformants were selected, CHI-NRC-4 from the first vector and T-CHI-NRC-6 from the second vector, and used for further studies. The complete CDS sequence of gene was determined and submitted to GenBank with the accession number KX268692.1. Culture supernatants of (CHI-NRC-4) and (T-CHI-NRC-6) were investigated for their inhibitory effect on egg hatch under laboratory conditions. Result showed up to 96% inhibition in egg hatching due to both transformants as compared to control which reflect the same expression efficiency of both used prometers. A greenhouse experiment was carried out to evaluate the nematicidal effect of culture supernatants of the two transformts (CHI-NRC-4) and (T-CHI-NRC-6) against infected eggplant. Obtained results showed a significant reduction in nematode population in soil and roots and enhancement in eggplant growth parameters as compared to control.

Introduction: Bacteriocin P7 was extracted from the cell-free supernatant (CFS) of G7, which is a strain isolated from mangrove plants.

Methods: In this study, the culture conditions of G7 were optimised using an orthogonal test. The (CFS) was subsequently purified by using TA-GF75 gel chromatography, Tiderose Q HP anion chromatography and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC).

: Individuals with HIV on combined antiretroviral therapy (ART) with virologic suppression exhibit chronic immune activation and immune dysfunction. Numerous studies have shown that human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) controls the postnatal transmission of HIV-1, but its effect on adult HIV-1 infection is not known. The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-HIV activity of Lacto-N-fucopentaose III (LNFPIII) in adult blood-borne macrophages.

Differences in male (M) and female (F) neonates' premature birth outcomes and placental trophoblast inflammation have been observed but are unknown to occur within the fetal membrane trophoblast layer (chorion trophoblasts [CTC]). This study examined whether sex-based differences in gene expression and inflammatory marker expression can be observed in CTCs under control or infectious inflammatory conditions modeling preterm birth. CTCs from six different patient-derived fetal membrane samples (3M/3F) were cultured and divided into experimental (Lipopolysaccharide [LPS]) and control groups for 6, 12, or 24 h.

Non-typhoidal salmonellosis (NTS) caused by multidrug-resistant (MDR) is a significant public health concern worldwide. Probiotics offer a potential alternative to antibiotics in many infectious diseases, including NTS. However, using living bacteria raises safety concerns in clinical settings, especially in the immunocompromised host.

Objectives: Blocking interleukin (IL)-6-receptor with tocilizumab has been a major advance in the treatment of giant-cell arteritis (GCA), supporting a crucial role of IL-6 receptor signalling. However, nearly half of the patients are not able to maintain glucocorticoid- free remission with tocilizumab. The impact of tocilizumab on vascular lesions of GCA is largely unknown since conflicting results have been obtained by imaging.
