Published: January 2019

A novel p-type organic semiconductor with high thermal stability is developed by simply incorporating cyclohexyl substituted aryl groups into the 2,6-position of anthracene, namely 2,6-di(4-cyclohexylphenyl)anthracene (DcHPA), and a similar compound with linear alkyl chain, 2,6-di(4--hexylphenyl)anthracene (DnHPA), is also studied for comparison. DcHPA shows sublimation temperature around 360°C, and thin film field-effect transistors of DcHPA could maintain half of the original mobility value when heated up to 150°C. Corresponding DnHPA has sublimation temperature of 310°C and the performance of its thin film devices decreases by about 50% when heated to 80°C. The impressing thermal stability of the cyclohexyl substitution compounds might provide guidelines for developing organic electronic materials with high thermal stability.

Investigating the formation mechanism and effective manipulation of multi-component crystal polymorphs is crucial for facilitating industrial drug development. Herein, five novel Osimertinib-caffeic acid forms were first strategically tailored by varying solvent selection. Theoretical analysis demonstrated this polymorphism is correlated with multiple hydrogen bond donors-acceptors within multi-component system, which provides manipulation space for reconfiguration of intermolecular interactions and structural competition, while solvent further induced or involved in hydrogen-bonded rearrangements.

This study investigates the effect of fibers from cotton and polyester textiles on the properties of fiber-reinforced polypropylene (PP) composites aimed at durable and load-bearing materials. Herein we developed a process-centered strategy to introduce 52 wt% of fibers within the thermoplastic matrix, while ensuring proper interfacial coupling. We examined the mechanical, thermal, and rheological properties of composite materials that integrated cotton and polyester waste fibers into PP matrices with different coupling agents.

Dry solidification of chloride salts and heavy metals in waste incineration fly ash by mayenite.

Jiangsu Key Laboratory of E-waste Recycling, School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Jiangsu University of Technology, Changzhou 213001, PR China. Electronic address:

There are hazardous substances such as chloride salts and heavy metals in the municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (WIFA). During thermal treatment, the concentrated chlorides promote the volatilization of heavy metals, increasing the ecological risk. The water washing method is also employed as a pre-treatment for WIFA, but a substantial volume of wastewater with high chloride content is produced that poses challenges for effective treatment.

Despite all debates about its safe use, glyphosate remains the most widely applied active ingredient in herbicide products, with renewed approval in the European Union until 2033. Non-target organisms are commonly exposed to glyphosate as a matter of its mode of application, with its broader environmental and biological impacts remaining under investigation. Glyphosate displays structural similarity to phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP), thereby competitively inhibiting the 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS), crucial for the synthesis of aromatic amino acids in plants, fungi, bacteria, and archaea.

The impact of various biopolymers on low-sodium condiments composed of salt, potassium chloride, sodium glutamate and Maillard reaction products with chicken flavor were evaluated in order to generate uniformly distributed low-sodium condiments. The addition of biopolymers reduced the sodium and potassium content of low sodium condiments, as well as improved the particle size, changed the particle morphology. The addition of different biopolymers had different effects on the color, flow characteristics, solubility, hygroscopicity and thermal stability of low sodium condiments.
