The plant hormone ethylene regulates ripening in climacteric fruits. The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) affects ethylene biosynthesis, but whether ethylene influences ABA biosynthesis is unknown. To explore this possibility, we investigated the interactions between the ABA biosynthesis genes and the ethylene response transcription factor PpERF3 in peach fruit. The ABA content increased during fruit maturation and reached a peak at stage S4 III. The increase was greatly inhibited by the ethylene inhibitor 1-MCP, which also suppressed expression. shared a similar expression profile with , encoding a rate-limiting enzyme involved in ABA biosynthesis, during fruit ripening. A yeast one-hybrid assay suggested that the nuclear-localized PpERF3 might bind to the promoters of . PpERF3 increased the expression of as shown by dual-luciferase reporters, promoter-GUS assays and transient expression analyses in peach fruit. Collectively, these results suggest that ethylene promotes ABA biosynthesis through PpERF3's regulation of the expression of ABA biosynthesis genes .

A lack of iron (Fe) inhibits the growth and development of plants, leading to reduced agricultural yields and quality. In the last ten years, numerous studies have focused on the induction of Fe uptake and translocation under Fe deficiency, but the regulatory mechanisms governing Fe reutilization within plants are still not well understood. Here, we demonstrated the involvement of the NAM/ATAF1/2/CUC2 (NAC) transcription factor NAC50 in response to Fe shortage.

Abscisic acid (ABA) is an important plant growth regulator with broad applications in agriculture, forestry, and other fields. Currently, the industrial production of ABA primarily relies on microbial fermentation using , but its genetic toolbox is limited. To address this, we first screened 10 strong constitutive promoters from the genome of through transcriptomic analysis.

Low phosphate (LP) availability significantly impacts crop yield and quality. PHOSPHATE STARVATION RESPONSE1 (PHR1) along with PHR1-like 1 (PHL1) act as a key transcriptional regulator in a plant's adaptive response to LP conditions. Abscisic acid (ABA) plays an important role in how plants respond to environmental stresses like salinity and drought.

Emerging evidence indicates that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a regulatory role in plant response to environmental stresses. Seed germination is a complex physiological process modulated by many environmental and phytohormonal cues. However, how lncRNAs and phytohormones interactively regulate the response of seed germination to salt stress remain largely unknown.
