Objective: To describe the patient characteristics, indications, and clinical outcomes of home high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) among pediatric patients. To evaluate secular trends in home HFNC initiation between 2013 and 2022.
Methods: A retrospective review of all children on home HFNC between 2013 and 2023 was conducted at a tertiary care pediatric hospital in Ontario, Canada.
Background: Glanzmann thrombasthenia (GT) is a rare disease with an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern. This disorder is not so uncommonly encountered in routine clinical practice and laboratory settings in Pakistan let alone in the rest of the world. To describe the bleeding phenotype of GT and treatment outcomes in over one hundred patients in north Pakistan.

Otorhinolaryngology (ORL) emergencies, including airway obstructions, epistaxis, and foreign body removal, require prompt and specialized medical intervention. Junior doctors, particularly those in the early stages of their careers, often face challenges in managing these conditions due to limited exposure to ORL-specific training during their internships. While general medical education provides foundational skills, it may not sufficiently prepare junior doctors to handle the complexities of ORL emergencies.

In this editorial, we comment on the article by Liu . Based on our analysis of a case report, we consider that early screening and recognition of primary nasal tuberculosis are crucial for patients undergoing treatment with tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi). While TNFi therapy increases the risk of reactivating latent tuberculosis, primary nasal tuberculosis remains rare due to the protective mechanisms of the nasal mucosa.

The clinical policy of the Emergency Medicine Association of Türkiye (EMAT) provides guidance on the use of tranexamic acid (TXA) in emergency settings. TXA, an antifibrinolytic drug, is used to control bleeding by inhibiting plasminogen. Its applications have expanded from hemophilia and severe menstrual bleeding to include various forms of trauma and surgery-related bleeding.
