Objective: To investigate patient factors influencing length-of-stay (LOS) after revision metal-on-metal (MoM) total hip arthroplasty (THA).
Methods: We reviewed 23 hips undergoing revision of a MoM THA with minimum 2-year follow-up. A multiple linear regression was calculated to predict LOS using multiple variables.
Results: Average length of stay (LOS) was 2.1 days. Multiple linear regression analysis identified a significant correlation between presence of an abductor injury (beta = 0.8886; < 0.0001), patient age (beta = -0.4452, = 0.0083), and pre-revision head size (beta = 0.4082; = 0.0172) with LOS (R = 0.6351, = 0.0002).
Conclusion: Patients with abductor injury, larger femoral heads, and younger age are at risk for longer LOS.

Purpose: To compare outcomes of LLR in VI/VII of the liver in Left-lateral Decubitus Jackknife Position (LDJP) and traditional Supine Position (SP). We used propensity score matching (PSM) to analyze clinical outcomes.
Patients & Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed patients undergoing LLR for liver tumors in segments VI and/or VII at Shandong Provincial Hospital from 2018 to 2023.

Background: Although surviving sepsis campaign (SSC) guidelines are the standard for sepsis and septic shock management, outcomes are still unfavourable. Given that perfusion pressure in sepsis is heterogeneous among patients and within the same patient; we evaluated the impact of individualized hemodynamic management via the transcranial Doppler (TCD) pulsatility index (PI) on mortality and outcomes among sepsis-induced encephalopathy (SIE) patients.
Methods: In this prospective, single-center randomized controlled study, 112 patients with SIE were randomly assigned.

Background: Contemporary guidelines advocate for initial debridement and single-stage definitive fixation with immediate soft tissue reconstruction for open fractures. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of single-stage stabilization and immediate definitive soft tissue coverage in open ankle fractures compared to closed fractures.
Methods: We compared all isolated open ankle fractures (OF) treated between January 2017 and June 2019 to a control group of operatively managed closed ankle fractures (CF).

Introduction: Bowel regimens (BR) before radical cystectomy (RC) are currently not recommended by Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, as prior studies have shown BRs lead to worsened outcomes. However, many of those studies have used historic literature before recent surgical advancements such as minimally invasive RC and have not investigated the impact BRs have by type of urinary diversion. Our goal is to determine the outcomes of preoperative BR in patients undergoing RC based on diversion type using a modern patient cohort.

Introduction: The Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol represents an advancement in perioperative care to reduce surgical stress and accelerate recovery. This meta-analysis evaluates the effectiveness of ERAS in pancreatic surgery.
Objective: To assess the impact of the ERAS protocol compared with conventional hospital care on postoperative outcomes, including length of hospital stay (LOS), hospital costs, readmission rates, and infection rates in patients undergoing pancreatic surgery.
