Lipoma of the corpus callosum, also known as pericallosal lipoma, is a rare congenital brain abnormality associated with corpus callosum dysgenesis or agenesis. Two morphological types are described: tubulonodular and curvilinear, with the latter being mostly asymptomatic. We present the case of a 30-year-old woman with epilepsy, whose magnetic resonance imaging revealed a "caterpillar sign" in the corpus callosum associated with a curvilinear pericallosal lipoma.

Purpose: To report a rare case of a 65 year old patient with a single caterpillar hair with localised lenticular opacity around it and no active inflammation.
Observations: A single quiescent caterpillar hair embedded in the anterior lens capsule causing localised cataract around it. There was no other sign of ocular toxicosis and the patient was unaware of the presence of this intraocular foreign body.

Insect diapause shares many biochemical features with other states of metabolic depression, including the suppression of global metabolism, reorganization of metabolic pathways and improved stress resistance. However, little is known about the biochemical changes associated with the diapause phenotype in tropical insects. To investigate biochemical adaptations associated with tropical diapause, we measured the activities of metabolic and antioxidant enzymes, as well as glutathione levels, in the sunflower caterpillar Chlosyne lacinia at different times after initiation of diapause (<1, 20, 40, 60, and 120 days) and after arousal from diapause.

Background: Although several endoscopic findings of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), such as the EoE endoscopic reference score (EREFS), have been reported thus far, these endoscopic findings exhibit low specificity. Furthermore, most of these endoscopic findings were evaluated solely in patients from Western nations. We have recently noted a fragile, protruded mucosal lesion sandwiched between longitudinal furrows (similar to caterpillar tracks) on the esophagus in patients with EoE.
